    Preoperative anaemia is common in the Asia-Pacific. Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is a risk factor that can be addressed under patient blood management (PBM) Pillar 1, leading to reduced morbidity and mortality. We examined PBM implementation under four different healthcare systems, identified challenges and proposed several measures: (a) Test for anaemia once patients are scheduled for surgery. (b) Inform patients about risks of preoperative anaemia and benefits of treatment. (c) Treat IDA and replenish iron stores before surgery, using intravenous iron when oral treatment is ineffective, not tolerated or when rapid iron replenishment is needed; transfusion should not be the default management. (d) Harness support from multiple medical disciplines and relevant bodies to promote PBM implementation. (e) Demonstrate better outcomes and cost savings from reduced mortality and morbidity. Although PBM implementation may seem complex and daunting, it is feasible to start small. Implementing PBM Pillar 1, particularly in preoperative patients, is a sensible first step regardless of the healthcare setting.

    RESEARCH BACKGROUND: Curcuma species (Zingiberaceae) are well known medicinal herbs in India and Southeast Asia. Despite various findings reporting their beneficial biological activities, very little information has been recorded on the Curcuma caesia. Thus, this study aims to determine the phenolic content, antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of both rhizome and leaves of C. caesia.

    EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH: Rhizome and leaves of C. caesia were dried with oven (OD) and freeze (FD)-drying methods, and extracted with different Φ(ethanol,water)=100:0, 80:20, 50:50 and 0:100. The bioactivities of C. caesia extracts were evaluated using in vitro tests; total phenolic content (TPC), antioxidant (DPPH and FRAP) and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR)-based metabolomics approach was employed to differentiate the most active extracts based on their metabolite profiles and correlation with bioactivities.

    RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: The FD rhizome extracted with Φ(ethanol,water)=100:0 was observed to have potent TPC expressed as gallic acid equivalents, FRAP expressed as Trolox equivalents and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with values of (45.4±2.1) mg/g extract, (147.7±8.3) mg/g extract and (265.5±38.6) µg/mL (IC50), respectively. Meanwhile, for DPPH scavenging activity, the Φ(ethanol,water)=80:20 and 100:0 extracts of FD rhizome showed the highest activity with no significant difference between them. Hence, the FD rhizome extracts were selected for further metabolomics analysis. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed clear discrimination among the different extracts. Partial least square (PLS) analysis showed positive correlations of the metabolites, including xanthorrhizol derivative, 1-hydroxy-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-(6E)-6-heptene-3,4-dione, valine, luteolin, zedoardiol, β-turmerone, selina-4(15),7(11)-dien-8-one, zedoalactone B and germacrone, with the antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibition activities, whereas curdione and 1-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-(lE,6E)-1,6-heptadiene3,4-dione were correlated with α-glucosidase inhibitory activity.

    NOVELTY AND SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION: C. caesia rhizome and leaf extracts contained phenolic compounds and had varies antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory capacities. These findings strongly suggest that the rhizomes of C. caesia are an invaluable natural source of active ingredients for applications in pharmaceutical and food industries.

    The genus Arbutus (Ericaceae) has been traditionally used in folk medicine due to its phytomedicinal properties, especially Arbutus pavarii Pamp. However, this plant has not been evaluated for its efficacy, quality, and consistency to support the traditional uses, potentially in treating diabetes. Despite previous studies that revealed the biological activities of A. pavarii as antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory agents, scientific reports on the bioactive compounds that contribute to its health benefits are still scarce. Therefore, this research focused on the evaluation of antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of the methanol crude extracts and various fractions of the leaf and stem bark, as well as on metabolite profiling of the methanol crude extracts. The extracts and fractions were evaluated for total phenolic (TPC) and total flavonoid (TFC) contents, as well as the DPPH free radical scavenging, ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities. Methanol crude extracts of the leaf and stem bark were then subjected to UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS. To the best of our knowledge, the comparative evaluation of the antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of the leaf and stem bark of A. pavarii, as well as of the respective solvent fractions, is reported herein for the first time. Out of these extracts, the methanolic crude extracts and polar fractions (ethyl acetate and butanol fractions) showed significant bioactivities. The DPPH free radical and α-glucosidase inhibitions was highest in the leaf ethyl acetate fraction, with IC50 of 6.39 and 4.93 µg/mL, respectively, while the leaf methanol crude extract and butanol fraction exhibited the highest FRAP with 82.95 and 82.17 mmol Fe (II)/g extract. The UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS analysis resulted in the putative identification of a total of 76 compounds from the leaf and stem bark, comprising a large proportion of plant phenolics (flavonoids and phenolic acids), terpenoids, and fatty acid derivatives. Results from the present study showed that the different parts of A. pavarii had potent antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities, which could potentially prevent oxidative damage or diabetes-related problems. These findings may strengthen the traditional claim on the medicinal value of A. pavarii.

    BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Following the recognition of 'internet gaming disorder' (IGD) as a condition requiring further study by the DSM-5, 'gaming disorder' (GD) was officially included as a diagnostic entity by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). However, the proposed diagnostic criteria for gaming disorder remain the subject of debate, and there has been no systematic attempt to integrate the views of different groups of experts. To achieve a more systematic agreement on this new disorder, this study employed the Delphi expert consensus method to obtain expert agreement on the diagnostic validity, clinical utility and prognostic value of the DSM-5 criteria and ICD-11 clinical guidelines for GD.

    METHODS: A total of 29 international experts with clinical and/or research experience in GD completed three iterative rounds of a Delphi survey. Experts rated proposed criteria in progressive rounds until a pre-determined level of agreement was achieved.

    RESULTS: For DSM-5 IGD criteria, there was an agreement both that a subset had high diagnostic validity, clinical utility and prognostic value and that some (e.g. tolerance, deception) had low diagnostic validity, clinical utility and prognostic value. Crucially, some DSM-5 criteria (e.g. escapism/mood regulation, tolerance) were regarded as incapable of distinguishing between problematic and non-problematic gaming. In contrast, ICD-11 diagnostic guidelines for GD (except for the criterion relating to diminished non-gaming interests) were judged as presenting high diagnostic validity, clinical utility and prognostic value.

    CONCLUSIONS: This Delphi survey provides a foundation for identifying the most diagnostically valid and clinically useful criteria for GD. There was expert agreement that some DSM-5 criteria were not clinically relevant and may pathologize non-problematic patterns of gaming, whereas ICD-11 diagnostic guidelines are likely to diagnose GD adequately and avoid pathologizing.

    Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Diagnosis of COVID-19 depends on quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR), which is time-consuming and requires expensive instrumentation. Here, we report an ultrasensitive electrochemical biosensor based on isothermal rolling circle amplification (RCA) for rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2. The assay involves the hybridization of the RCA amplicons with probes that were functionalized with redox active labels that are detectable by an electrochemical biosensor. The one-step sandwich hybridization assay could detect as low as 1 copy/μL of N and S genes, in less than 2 h. Sensor evaluation with 106 clinical samples, including 41 SARS-CoV-2 positive and 9 samples positive for other respiratory viruses, gave a 100% concordance result with qRT-PCR, with complete correlation between the biosensor current signals and quantitation cycle (Cq) values. In summary, this biosensor could be used as an on-site, real-time diagnostic test for COVID-19.

    PURPOSE: Various surgical strategies including combined approach and spinal osteotomies in severe rigid scoliosis had been reported with significant perioperative complication rates. The use of single-staged posterior spinal fusion (PSF) utilizing a dual attending surgeon strategy for severe rigid scoliosis has not been widely reported.

    METHODS: This was a retrospective study aimed to evaluate the perioperative outcome of single-staged PSF in severe rigid idiopathic scoliosis patients (Cobb angle ≥90° and ≤30% flexibility). Forty-one patients with severe rigid idiopathic scoliosis who underwent single-staged PSF were included. The perioperative outcome parameters were operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative hemodynamic parameters, preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin, transfusion rate, patient-controlled anesthesia morphine usage, length of postoperative hospital stay, and perioperative complications. Radiological parameters included preoperative and postoperative Cobb angle, correction rate, side-bending flexibility, and side-bending correction index.

    RESULTS: The mean age was 16.9 ± 5.6 years. The mean preoperative Cobb angle was 110.8 ± 12.1° with mean flexibility of 23.1 ± 6.3%. The mean operation duration was 215.5 ± 45.2 min with mean blood loss of 1752.6 ± 830.5 mL. The allogeneic blood transfusion rate was 24.4%. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 76.9 ± 26.7 h. The mean postoperative Cobb angle and correction rate were 54.4 ± 12.8° and 50.9 ± 10.1%, respectively. The readmission rate in this cohort was 2.4%. Four perioperative complications were documented (9.8%), one somatosensory evoke potential signal loss, one superficial infection, one lung collapse, and one superior mesenteric artery syndrome.

    CONCLUSIONS: Severe rigid idiopathic scoliosis treated with single-staged PSF utilizing a dual attending surgeon strategy demonstrated an average correction rate of 50.9%, operation duration of 215.5 min, and postoperative hospital stay of 76.9 h with a 9.8% perioperative complication rate.

    OBJECTIVE: To determine the parents'/patients' perception on the informed consent process prior to posterior spinal fusion (PSF) for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients.

    SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Understanding parents/patients perspective on the process is important in order to achieve the goal of consent and prevent medico-legal implications.

    METHODS: Fifty AIS patients operated between August 2019 and November 2019 were prospectively recruited. Parents'/patients' perceptions on three sections were evaluated: the process of the informed consent, specific operative risk which they were most concerned with and the accountability of surgeons for the surgical risks.     BACKGROUND CONTEXT: The implementation of a dual attending surgeon strategy had improved perioperative outcomes of idiopathic scoliosis (IS) patients. Nevertheless, the learning curve of a dual attending surgeon practice in single-staged posterior spinal fusion (PSF) surgery has not been established.

    OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the surgical learning curve of a dual attending surgeon strategy in IS patients.

    STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective study.

    PATIENT SAMPLE: 415 IS patients (Cobb angle <90°) who underwent PSF using a dual attending surgeon strategy OUTCOME MEASURES: Primary outcomes included operative time, total blood loss, allogenic blood transfusion requirement, length of hospital stay and perioperative complication rate.

    METHODS: Regression analysis using Locally Weighted Scatterplot Smoothing (LOWESS) method was applied to create the best-fit-curve between case number versus operative time and total blood loss in identifying cut-off points for the learning curve.

    RESULTS: The mean Cobb angle was 60.8±10.8°. Mean operative time was 134.4±32.1 minutes and mean total blood loss was 886.0±450.6 mL. The mean length of hospital stay was 3.0±1.6 days.     STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective.

    PURPOSE: To evaluate the relationship between shoulder/ neck imbalance with distal adding-on phenomenon and to identify other risk factors in Lenke 1 and 2 (non-AR curves) adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients.

    METHODS: 100 Lenke 1 and 2 AIS patients with lowest instrumented vertebra (LIV) cephalad to or at L1 were recruited. Medial shoulder/ neck balance was represented by T1-tilt and cervical axis (CA). Lateral shoulder balance was represented by clavicle angle (Cla-A) and radiographic shoulder height (RSH). Distal adding-on phenomenon was diagnosed when there was disc wedging below LIV of >5o at final follow-up. Predictive factors and odds ratio were derived using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.

    RESULTS: Mean age of this cohort was 15.9 ± 4.4 years. Mean follow-up duration was 30.9 ± 9.6 months. Distal adding-on phenomenon occurred in 19 patients (19.0%). Only Risser grade, preoperative CA and final follow-up lumbar Cobb angle were the independent factors. A positive preoperative CA deviation increased the odds of distal adding-on by 5.4 times (95% CI 1.34-21.51, P = 0.018). The mean immediate postoperative T1-tilt, CA, RSH and Cla-A were comparable between the group with distal adding-on and the group without.

    CONCLUSION: Distal adding-on phenomenon occurred in 19.0% of patients. Preoperative "Cervical Axis" was an important factor and it increased the risk of distal adding-on by 5.4 times. Other significant predictive factors were Risser grade and lumbar Cobb angle at final follow-up. Immediate postoperative shoulder or neck imbalance was not a significant factor for postoperative distal adding-on phenomenon.

    OBJECTIVE: To assess the learning curve of a dual attending surgeon strategy in severe adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients.

    SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: The advantages of a dual attending surgeon strategy in improving the perioperative outcome in scoliosis surgery had been reported. However, the learning curve of this strategy in severe scoliosis had not been widely studied.

    METHODS: A total of 105 patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis with Cobb angle of 90° or greater, who underwent posterior spinal fusion using a dual attending surgeon strategy were recruited. Primary outcomes were operative time, total blood loss, allogeneic blood transfusion requirement, length of hospital stay from time of operation and perioperative complications. Cases were sorted chronologically into group 1: cases 1 to 35, group 2: cases 36 to 70, and group 3: case 71 to 105. Mean operative time (≤193.3 min), total blood loss (≤1612.2 mL), combination of both and allogeneic blood transfusion were the selected criteria for receiver operating characteristic analysis of the learning curve.

    RESULTS: The mean Cobb angle was 104.5° ± 12.3°. The operative time, total blood loss, and allogeneic blood transfusion requirement reduced significantly for group 1 (220.6 ± 54.8 min; 2011.3 ± 881.8 mL; 12 cases) versus group 2 (183.6 ± 36.7 min; 1481.6 ± 1035.5 mL; 3 cases) and group 1 versus group 3 (175.6 ± 38.4 min; 1343.7 ± 477.8 mL; 3 cases) (P

    Luteolin and apigenin derivatives present in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) leaves (OPL) are reported to possess excellent antioxidant properties relating to numerous health benefits. To meet the global demand for flavonoids, OPL, which is plentifully generated as an agricultural by-product from oil palm plantations, can be further exploited as a new source of natural antioxidant compounds. However, to produce a standardized herbal preparation, validation of the quantification method for these compounds is required. Therefore, in this investigation, we developed and validated an improved and rapid analytical method, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography equipped with ultraviolet/photodiode array (UHPLC-UV/PDA) for the quantification of 12 luteolin and apigenin derivatives, particularly focusing on flavonoid isomeric pairs: orientin/isoorientin and vitexin/isovitexin, present in various OPL extracts. Several validation parameters were assessed, resulting in the UHPLC-UV/PDA technique offering good specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, and robustness, where the values were within acceptable limits. Subsequently, the validated method was employed to quantify luteolin and apigenin derivatives from OPL subjected to different drying treatments and extraction with various solvent systems, giving total luteolin (TLC) and apigenin content (TAC) in the range of 2.04-56.30 and 1.84-160.38 µg/mg extract, respectively. Additionally, partial least square (PLS) analysis disclosed the combination of freeze dry-aqueous methanol yielded OPL extracts with high TLC and TAC, which are strongly correlated with antioxidant activity. Therefore, we provide the first validation report of the UHPLC-UV/PDA method for quantification of luteolin and apigenin derivatives present in various OPL extracts, suggesting that this approach could be employed in standardized herbal preparations by adopting orientin, isoorientin, vitexin, and isovitexin as chemical markers.

    Huge quantities of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) leaves (OPL) are generated as agricultural biomass from oil palm plantations. OPL are known to contain significant amounts of flavonoids. For maximal exploitation of these valuable antioxidant compounds, an innovative and sustainable extraction method employing natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDES) combined with ultrasonic assisted extraction was developed. Various NaDES composed of choline chloride as the hydrogen bond donor (HBD) and 1,2 propanediol (PD), 1,4 butanediol (BD), glycerol (GLY), glucose (GLU), maltose (MAL), and lactic acid (LA) as the hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) were synthesized. The influence of these compositions, the methods of their synthesis, molar ratios, and water contents on their capacity to extract flavonoids from OPL was evaluated. Based on the results, it was found that methods which incorporate a heating step produced NaDES with the best capacity to extract OPL flavonoids. These thermal methods combined with molar ratios of 1:3 or 1:4 and water contents of 17 to 50% were found to be the optimal conditions for preparing NaDES, specifically when applied to the PD, BD, and GLY NaDES. Subsequently, UHPLC-UV/PDA-MS/MS analysis revealed NaDES extracts recovered by macroporous adsorption resin XAD7HP were able to optimally extract at least twelve luteolin and apigenin derivatives in OPL NaDES extracts prepared from glycerol and 1,4-butanediol demonstrated better and comparable efficiency as aqueous methanol in extracting flavonoids from OPL. The in vitro studies of antioxidant and wound healing properties supported these findings by exhibiting good free radical scavenging, cell proliferation, and migration activities. Additionally, the NaDES extracts also showed non-cytotoxicity effects at 1000 µg/mL and below on 3T3 fibroblast cells. Results of the study showed that NaDES could be a promising eco-friendly green solvent to extract bioactive OPL flavonoids that have great potential for applications as wound healing agents.

    Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) leaflets (OPLs) are one of the major agricultural by-products generated from the massive cultivation of Malaysian palm oil. This biomass is also reported to be of potential value based on its health-improving effects. By employing proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) spectroscopy combined with multivariate data analysis (MVDA), the metabolite profile of OPLs was characterized and correlated with their antioxidant and wound healing properties. Principal component analysis (PCA) classified four varieties of extracts, prepared using solvents ranging from polar to medium polarity, into three distinct clusters. Cumulatively, six flavonoids, eight organic acids, four carbohydrates, and an amine were identified from the solvent extracts. The more polar extracts, such as, the ethyl acetate-methanol, absolute methanol, and methanol-water, were richer in phytochemicals. Based on partial least square (PLS) analysis, the constituents in these extracts, such as (+)-catechin, (-)-epicatechin, orientin, isoorientin, vitexin, and isovitexin, were strongly correlated with the measured antioxidant activities, comprising ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and nitric oxide (NO) free radical scavenging activities, as well as with cell proliferation and migration activities. This study has provided crucial evidence on the importance of these natural antioxidant compounds on the wound healing properties of OPL.

    Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) leaves (OPL) are widely available at zero cost in Southeast Asia countries, especially in Malaysia and Indonesia due to large scale oil palm plantations. OPLs contain a large amount of flavonoids in particular flavonoid C-glycosides, which are known to possess useful biological properties including antioxidant and wound healing properties. The present study aimed at evaluating the wound healing efficacy of OPL in various solvent extracts and flavonoid enriched fractions and to determine the contribution of flavonoid C-glycosides (orientin, isoorientin, vitexin and isovitexin) using in-vitro scratch assay on 3T3 fibroblast cells. Solvent crude extracts with different polarity were screened and the most active extract was subjected to acid hydrolysis. The crude and acid hydrolysed extracts were further enriched using macroporous resins, XAD7HP. UHPLC-UV/PDA and LC-MS/MS analysis were applied for identification and confirmation of flavonoid C-glycosides. The wound healing properties comprised of cell viability, cell proliferation and cell migration were studied. Allantoin was used as a positive control to compare the efficacy among the tested samples. The results revealed all OPL crude extracts, flavonoid enriched fractions and flavonoid C-glycosides were non-toxic at concentrations below 25 µg/mL and showed better cell proliferation and migration activities at low concentrations than higher concentrations.. This study also demonstrated orientin, isoorientin, vitexin and isovitexin presented in OPL extracts and flavonoid enriched fractions stimulated proliferation and migration of 3T3 fibroblast cells. Hence, these findings may pose potential therapeutic bioactive agents for wound healing by enhancing fibroblast proliferation and migration.

    Gyrinops walla is an important agarwood-producing tree and threatened species from Sri Lanka. Herein, we assembled and characterized the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of G. walla as a genomic resource for conservation purposes. The 175,130 bp long genome is comprised of 87,376 bp large single-copy (LSC) and 3316 bp small single-copy (SSC) regions, which are separated by two inverted repeat (IR) region, each with a size of 42,291 bp. A total of 140 genes were predicted for the cp genome, which includes 94 protein-coding, 38 tRNA, and eight rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that G. walla is fully resolved in a sister position to Aquilaria in the family Thymelaeaceae. The data provided will be useful for study on the molecular phylogenetics and evolution of Thymelaeaceae in the future.

    A new species, Wikstroemiafragrans (Thymelaeaceae, Daphneae), from Danxiashan National Park, Shaoguan, Guangdong of China is described and illustrated. It is similar to the sympatric W.trichotoma, but can be differentiated easily from the latter by its shorter racemose inflorescences, yellowish green calyx tube, and smaller leaves. It also resembles the allopatric W.fargesii, but differs from it by its strigose-pubescent ovary and disk scale that is 2- or 3-dentate apically. Phylogenetic analysis using the nuclear DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region revealed that W.fragrans falls within the Wikstroemia clade; based on current sampling, W.fragrans is closely-related to W.capitata. It is also the first species of Wikstroemia known to be endemic to the Danxia landform and is classified provisionally as Critically Endangered according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

    Dye-ligand affinity chromatography in a stirred fluidized bed has been developed for the rapid recovery of malate dehydrogenase (MDH) from highly turbid baker's yeast cell homogenate in a single step. The most suitable dye, namely Reactive Orange 4, in its optimal immobilized concentration of 8.78 mg/mL was immobilized onto high-density STREAMLINE matrix. To further examine optimal adsorption and elution conditions, the enzyme recovery operation was carried out using unclarified cell homogenates in stirred fluidized bed system. Aiming to develop a non-specific eluent, namely NaCl, to effectively elute the MDH adsorbed, direct recovery of MDH from highly turbid cell homogenate (50% w/v) in a stirred fluidized bed adsorption system was performed. The proposed system successfully achieved a recovery yield of 73.6% and a purification factor of 73.5 in a single step by using 0.6 M NaCl as an eluent at a high liquid velocity of 200 cm/h.

    Labisia pumila is a traditional herb widely used as post-partum medication for centuries. Recently, extensive researches have been carried out on the phytochemical identification, biological and toxicological studies for the herb. Phytochemicals found in the herbal extract showed high antioxidant properties, which were essential for various pharmacological activities. The significant findings are anti-estrogenic deficiency and -immunodeficiency diseases. Another finding that has considerable impact on natural product research is the contribution of L. pumila in promoting skin collagen synthesis. The performance of the herb as anti-aging agent due to natural aging process and accelerated by UV radiation was reviewed critically.

    Both total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) of Labisia pumila extracts were determined spectrophotometrically. L. pumila leaves extracted in 60% methanol (MeOH) were fractionated on C18 cartridge and the antioxidant property of each fraction was determined by measuring free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity. The 40% MeOH fraction exhibited the highest scavenging activity. Nine flavonols (quercetin, myricetin and kaempferol), two flavanols (catechin and epigallocatechin) and nine phenolic acids were identified from this active fraction by UPLC-ESI-MS/MS, and confirmed by comparison with the mass spectra of standard aglycones, theoretical fragments generated from MS Fragmenter software, and literature values.
