    Introduction  This study presents a design and developmental model with prospective validation. This study was aimed to design, develop, and validate a cadaveric model simulator of a ganglion cyst to train surgeons in its surgical excision. Materials and Methods  A novel "ganglion cyst" was designed using a latex powder-free glove and water-based, water-soluble lubricant (K-Y jelly). This "ganglion cyst" was then inserted subcutaneously into a cadaveric hand, positioned over the dorsum of the wrist to simulate a ganglion lesion. This simulation model was prospectively validated using postsimulation surveys conducted on novices and experts in hand surgery. The simulation was conducted during a basic hand surgery cadaveric workshop that included a practical station on ganglion excision. Results  Both the novices and experts had a concurrent agreement that the simulator provided relevance, realism, and value as a simulator for the teaching, excision and procedural assessment of ganglions in the hand. Conclusion  The role of high-fidelity simulation has been documented in the literature for surgical procedures. This simple and affordable model that we have developed and validated allows for the creation of a high-fidelity ganglion simulator in the cadaveric hand for teaching, excision, and procedural assessment among trainees.

    OBJECTIVE: The primary goal was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice among otorhinolaryngologists regarding orthodontic intervention for Paediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (POSA).

    METHODS: An online survey was conducted by sending an email invitation to members of The Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of Karnataka, India. A total of 141 otorhinolaryngologists participated in the survey.

    RESULTS: Most of the participants (70.2%) agreed that orthodontic interventions help in opening up the airway, but very few knew about its application in nasal obstruction management.

    CONCLUSION: Otorhinolaryngologists are aware of dental effects of POSA and they believe that an interprofessional team is essential for its management. This learning can also be used to initiate interprofessional collaborations and academic and curricular improvisations for enhanced health outcomes.

    Nanocomposites selectively induce cancer cell death, holding potential for precise liver cancer treatment breakthroughs. This study assessed the cytotoxicity of gold nanocomposites (Au NCs) enclosed within silk fibroin (SF), aptamer (Ap), and the myogenic Talaromyces purpureogenus (TP) against a human liver cancer cell (HepG2). The ultimate product, Ap-SF-TP@Au NCs, results from a three-step process. This process involves the myogenic synthesis of TP@Au NCs derived from TP mycelial extract, encapsulation of SF on TP@Au NCs (SF-TP@Au NCs), and the conjugation of Ap within SF-TP@Au NCs. The synthesized NCs are analyzed by various characteristic techniques. Ap-SF-TP@Au NCs induced potential cell death in HepG2 cells but exhibited no cytotoxicity in non-cancerous cells (NIH3T3). The morphological changes in cells were examined through various biochemical staining methods. Thus, Ap-SF-TP@Au NCs emerge as a promising nanocomposite for treating diverse cancer cells.
