    Since the launch of the InvestSmart™ initiative in 2014, the government agencies in Malaysia have been actively engaging community and university students via their outreach programs to promote investment literacy. Given this background, the state of the investment literacy of Malaysian undergraduates and their readiness to invest is intriguing. Therefore, this article offers a dataset of Malaysian undergraduates' readiness to invest and the role that investment literacy and social influence play in their readiness to invest. Using a non-probability sampling technique, 500 undergraduate students in Malaysia were engaged to participate voluntarily in this survey. Descriptive statistics are presented in this paper. The dataset provides insights into the current state of investment literacy among Malaysian undergraduates, the sources of information on stock investment, and the readiness of these undergraduates to participate in the stock market.

    The dataset presented in this paper consists of a network of interpersonal lending relations from a single village of a deprivated area of Hungary. The data are originated from quantitative surveys from May 2014 to June 2014. The data collection was embedded in a Participatory Action Research (PAR) which aimed to investigate the financial survival strategies of low-income households in a Hungarian village in a disadvantaged region. The directed graphs of lending and borrowing are a unique dataset that empirically captures a hidden and informal financial activity between households. The network contains 164 households and 281 credit connections among them.

    This data article provides temporally and spatially high-resolution datasets of the indoor velocity fields for cross-ventilation models of two-layered simplified buildings separated by a second floor at the middle height with an opening using wind-tunnel experiments. The datasets are based on the research article entitled "Quantifying natural cross-ventilation flow of a two-layered model used for terraced houses in tropical zones by particle image velocimetry" by Ali et al. [1]. Two cases are considered based on the positions of the inlet and outlet openings on each floor. The measurements were conducted using hot-wire anemometry (HWA) with 10,000 Hz and particle image velocimetry (PIV) with 1000 Hz for a sufficiently long period to determine reliable statistics of the mean, variances, and covariances. In addition, the article provides the instantaneous datasets of two velocity components determined by PIV for the cross-ventilation models. The datasets can be used for both computational fluid dynamics (CFD) validation and further investigation of turbulent flow nature of the multi-layer cross ventilation flow.

    SRY (Sex Determining Region Y)-Box 4 or Sox4 is an important regulator of the pan-neuronal gene expression during post-mitotic cell differentiation within the mammalian brain. Sox4 gene locus has been previously characterized with multiple sense and overlapping natural antisense transcripts [1], [2]. Here we provide accompanying data on various analyses performed and described in Ling et al. [2]. The data include a detail description of various features found at Sox4 gene locus, additional experimental data derived from RNA-Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (RNA-FISH), Western blotting, strand-specific reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), gain-of-function and in situ hybridization (ISH) experiments. All the additional data provided here support the existence of an endogenous small interfering- or PIWI interacting-like small RNA known as Sox4_sir3, which origin was found within the overlapping region consisting of a sense and a natural antisense transcript known as Sox4ot1.

    This dataset integrates and helps examine the impact of green intellectual capital (GIC) which comprises of green human capital (GHC), green structural capital (GSC), and green relational capital (GRC) on green organizational culture (GOC). Secondly, it enables the investigation of GOC as a mediation phenomenon between GIC and sustainable business model innovation (SBMI). Moreover, it highlights the moderation of frugal innovation (FGL) on GOC and SBMI relationship. An online survey was designed using Google forms to collect data from 345 middle/ senior management employees working in medium and large manufacturing firms in Pakistan. Unit of analysis is the organization; thus, each response represents one firm. SPSS and Smart PLS 4 were used for data analysis. Dataset demonstrates that GHC, GSC, and GRC positively impact GOC, which subsequently enhances SBMI. Moreover, effective implementation of FGL can bolster the effect of GOC on SBMI. The dataset is valuable as it can be reproduced and reanalyzed. It offers insights for professionals to revolutionize their innovation for environmental initiatives particularly in the manufacturing sector and train their staff to use modern eco-friendly ingenuities leading to enhanced business performance as well as sustainable development goals. Furthermore, the dataset holds significance for policymakers involved in implementing green economic revitalization programs, enabling them to offer incentives or penalties to encourage compliance.

    Sudan is located in the heart of Africa and surrounded by eight countries with people of different ethnic origins. Historical records show that the population of the Sudan is a mixture of Arabic, West Asian Arabic and sub-Saharan African elements. The present survey provides data on allele lineages, and haplotype frequencies of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) class I (HLA-A and HLA-B) and class II (HLA-DR and -HLA-DQ) loci in 11 Sudanese populations. The sampled individuals are all local transplant donors who provided informed consent for HLA analyses on their blood samples and were registered at National Cancer Institute, University of Gezira, Wad Medani. The HLA class I and II data reported here can be subjected for future analyses of genetic structure and health in Sudan. These include as reference datasets for identifying the association between HLA and diseases and for designing donor recruitment strategies.

    House Building Tips is the title of a classic text containing historical information on early house construction in Malay communities. These tips were written by a scholar with knowledge of house construction through observation of the surrounding environment. In Malaysia, written sources or records of house construction are scarce and underexposed. As such, this research was conducted to guarantee the written legacy of the construction of Malay houses. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a statistical data source of house building tips that is laden with Malay ingenuity and identity. The wordlists generated from this study can become a source of reference for the field of Malay architecture. Accordingly, this study utilises the quantitative method by applying the Linguistic Corpus Statistical Approach; these data utilise specific corpus development procedures, beginning with text collection, scanning and cleaning processes, text annotation, and data storing in plain text. Next, the data analysis procedure utilises a corpus software, LancsBox, to generate specialised wordlists. The bubble graphs are developed based on these wordlists through the Tableau software, and illustrate the most used lexical items with the raw and relative frequency values. This facilitates searches for, and the reading of, architectural words and architectural word references. These data represent written sources that need to be preserved and become points of reference concerning Malay architectural ingenuity and identity.

    The data available in this repository were gathered from Balok, the only most productive spawning site for horseshoe crabs Tachypleus gigas and Carcinoscorpius rotundicauda in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The mangrove horseshoe crab, C. rotundicauda population and spawning data are available in the first table. The horseshoe crabs were retrieved from Balok River using 11.43 cm mesh size gill nets installed at the river mouth, the confluence and last meander. The arthropods were inspected for damage, abnormality and growth before their release into Balok River, particularly at the site of capture. Sediment samples were retrieved at their spawning grounds to ascertain sediment composition and size classifications which were also processed using Logarithmic Method of Moments. Water parameters like temperature, pH and salinity were also investigated during year 2016. All these information are compiled into the second table and arranged according to the period of data availability. The horseshoe crab catch data of years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 were made available by artisanal fisher and compiled in the third and fourth table for inter-species comparison.

    Tumorous cancer has been a widely known and well-studied medical phenomenon; however, rare diseases like Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN) have received less attention, leading to delayed diagnosis. Despite the availability of advanced technology in diagnostic tools that can boost the procedure, the morphological assessment of bone marrow trephine (BMT) images remains critical to confirm and differentiate MPN subtypes. This paper reports a histopathological imagery dataset that was created to focus on the most common MPN from the Philadelphia Chromosome (Ph)-negative type, namely Essential Thrombocythemia (ET), Polycythemia Vera (PV), and Primary Myelofibrosis (MF). The dataset consisted of 300 BMT images that can be used to enable computer vision applications, such as image segmentation, disease classification, and object recognition, in assisting the classification of the MPN disease. Ethical approval was obtained from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia and the bone marrow trephine images were captured using a digital microscope from the Olympus model (BX41 Dual head microscope) with x10, x20, and x40 lens types. The development of comprehensive tools deployed from this dataset can assist medical practitioners in diagnosing diseases, thus overcoming the current challenges.

    The presentation of this data focuses on analysing the dynamic role of economic growth, foreign direct investment and financial globalization uncertainty on financial development of selected leading African economies, spanning the year 1970 to 2018, and the data were obtained from world development indicators and global financial development databases. Second generation econometrics techniques were deployed for the analysis. We began with the descriptive and correlation statistics in order to ascertain the normality of the data. Also, homogeneity and cross-sectional dependency tests were carried out to validate the whether or not the data is heterogeneous and depend upon each other across the series. As well, the [3] co-integration and dynamic common correlated effect [1] and pool mean group [2] estimates were applied to confirm the presence of long-run relationship and their effects on the financial development among the sampled countries.

    In the study, a relationship was establishment between electrical resistivity by using electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) technique with hydraulic conductivity. By using Schlumberger array configuration, 2D electrical resistivity image was produced by using ABEM SAS 4000 with eighty-one (81) electrodes (Loke, 2004) [1]. By using regression equation, hydraulic conductivity was calculated from electrical resistivity and this result was compared with the hydraulic conductivity obtained from pumping tests (Butler, 2005). This data suggested that electrical resistivity survey can be used as preliminary tool to assess any subsurface zone with non- invasive nondestructive for soil, reducing time and cost.

    The genomic data of four bacteria strains isolated from the abandoned Mamut Copper Mine, an Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) site is presented in this report. Two of these strains belong to the genus Bacillus, while the other two belong to the genus Pseudomonas. The draft genome size of Pseudomonas sp. strain MCMY3 was 6,396,595 bp (GC: 63.3%), Bacillus sp. strain MCMY6 was 6,815,573 bp (GC: 35.2%), Bacillus sp. strain MCMY13 was 5,559,059 bp (GC: 35.5%) and Pseudomonas sp. strain MCMY15 was 7,381,777 bp (GC: 64.8%). These four genomes contained 493, 495, 495 and 579 annotated subsystems, respectively. The sequence data are available at GenBank sequence read archive with accessions numbers SRX7859406, SRX7859404, SRX7859405 and SRX7293032 for strains MCMY3, MCMY6, MCMY13 and MCMY15, respectively.

    Bacillus sp. has been reported to be involved in the biodegradation of various hydrocarbon pollutants which can potentially be useful in cleaning up hydrocarbon pollutants. Here we report the draft genome of Bacillus altitudinis strain ST14 isolated from Tunggak river, Gebeng, Kuantan, an area in close proximity to industrial activities. Genome sequencing was conducted using Illumina NovaSEQ 6000 technology. Structural genes in the genome were described, including rRNAs, tRNAs, and ncRNAs. Bacillus altitudinis strain ST14 was sequenced with a length of 3,801,811 bp containing 3,891 coding sequences (CDS). Functional gene annotation reported the presence of six enzymes involved in the degradation of aromatic compounds often found in hydrocarbon pollutants.

    Mangrovimonas sp. strain CR14 is a halophilic bacterium affiliated with family Flavobacteriaceae which was successfully isolated from mangrove soil samples obtained from Tanjung Piai National Park, Johor. The whole genome of strain CR14 was sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 platform (2 × 150 bp paired end). Herein, we report the genome sequence of Mangrovimonas sp. strain CR14 in which its assembled genome consisted 20 contigs with a total size of 3,590,195 bp, 3209 coding sequences, and an average 36.08% G + C content. Genome annotation and gene mining revealed that this bacterium demonstrated proteolytic activity which could be potentially applied in detergent industry. This whole-genome shotgun data of Mangrovimonas sp. strain CR14 has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession JAAFZY000000000. The version described in this paper is version JAAFZY010000000.

    Burkholderia sp. IMCC1007 is a gram-negative, aerobic bacterium affiliated with class Betaproteobacteria, which was successfully isolated from maize rhizospheric soil sample in UTM research plot, Pagoh, Malaysia by using enrichment method. Strain IMCC1007 utilized 50 mgL-1 fusaric acid as its carbon source and degraded it completely within 14 h. Genome sequencing was performed using Illumina NovaSeq platform. The assembled genome was annotated using RAST (Rapid Annotation Subsystem Technology) server. The genome size was approximately 8,568,405 base pairs (bp) in 147 contigs with a G+C content of 66.04%. The genome includes 8,733 coding sequences and 68 RNAs. The genome sequence has been deposited at GenBank with the accession number of JAPVQY000000000. In the pairwise genome-to-genome comparisons, the strain IMCC1007 had an average nucleotide identity (ANI) of 91.9% and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) value of 55.2% with Burkholderia anthina DSM 16086T respectively. Interestingly, fusaric acid resistance gene (fusC) and nicABCDFXT gene clusters (hydroxylation of pyridine compound) were found in the genome. Additionally, preliminary genome annotation analysis of strain IMCC1007 identified tryptophan halogenase (prnA) gene responsible for antifungal pyrrolnitrin biosynthesis. This dataset herein provides further insights into the fusaric acid degradation mechanism of the genus Burkholderia.

    Bacillus sp. CCB-MMP212 is a Gram-positive bacterium isolated from mangrove sediment in Matang Perak, Malaysia (4.85496°E, 100.73495°N). Genome sequencing was performed using the Oxford Nanopore and Illumina platforms. The assembled genome was annotated using the rapid annotation subsystem technology server (RAST) (rast.nmpdr.org). The genome size of the Bacillus sp. CCB-MMP212 was 6,151,644 base pairs (bp) with a G+C content of 34.75%. The genome includes 6,311 coding sequences and 58 RNAs. The sequence has been deposited at Genbank with the accession number of JALDQE000000000. Interestingly, an arsenic resistance (ars) operon consisted of arsenic resistance operon repressor (arsR), ACR3 family arsenite efflux transporter (arsB), and arsenate reductase (arsC) genes were found in the genome. In addition, the arsenic inducible gene (arsI), which encoded a dioxygenase with C•As lyase activity, was also found in the ars operon. The enzyme is crucial for the methylation of methylarsonous acid [MAs(III)] and trivalent roxarsone [Rox(III)]. This dataset reveals the genetic ability of this strain in arsenic resistance. To the best of our knowledge, the arsI encoding C•As lyase is rarely reported within the genus Bacillus. Therefore, the dataset presented in this manuscript provides further insight into the arsenic resistance mechanisms of the genus Bacillus.

    Fission tracks are linear trails of intense radiation damage in the crystal structure of a mineral, produced by spontaneous fissioning of uranium-238 (238U) atoms. Detail information on the low-temperature thermal histories of rocks, below∼120 °C for tracks in apatite and below∼350 °C for zircon, can be provided by Fission-track (FT) analysis. The purpose of this article is to present apatite and zircon fission-track data, and U-Pb granite ages that provide information about the cooling histories of a rock which can be crucial in comprehending the exhumation episodes of the study area, in particular, and the region, in general. Granite samples were collected along the same vertical profile at different elevation, 178-944 m.a.s.l. These samples were used to determine Fission-Track and crystallization ages. HeFTy software was employed to interpret the cooling histories of the samples using forward and inverse models. The inverse model was an approach of reproducing the observed data, and it was carried out only for fission-track data from the apatite grains. And it was constructed after generating a number of forward models, where in each of these models the predicted apatite fission-track parameters were compared to the measured values. The apatite fission track (AFT) and zircon fission track (ZFT) data indicated expected age trends, i.e. the older ages at higher elevations and the younger ages at lower elevations. Similarly, the data shows that the apatite and zircon FT ages appear younger than the age of the rock crystallization. The U-Pb age in zircon consistently suggest the age of the granite is Late Triassic.

    Spinal tuberculosis, also referred to as Pott's disease, presents a significant risk of severe paralysis if not promptly detected and treated, owing to complications such as spinal cord compression and deformity. This article presents the genetic analysis of a Mycobacterium tuberculosis STB-T1A strain, isolated from the spine of a 29-year-old female diagnosed with spinal tuberculosis. Genomic DNA was extracted from pure culture and subjected to sequencing using the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 sequencing system. The genome of the M. tuberculosis STB-T1A strain spans 4,367,616 base pairs with a G+C content of 65.56 % and 4174 protein-coding genes. Comparative genomic analysis, conducted via single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)-based phylogenetic analysis using the Maximum Likelihood method, revealed that the strain falls within the Indo-Oceanic lineage (Lineage 1). It clusters with the M. tuberculosis 43-16836 strain, which was isolated from the cerebrospinal fluid of a patient with tuberculous meningitis in Thailand. The complete genome sequence has been deposited at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) GenBank database with the accession number JBBMVZ000000000.

    The sago palm (Metroxylon sagu Rottboll) is a tropical halophytic starch-producing, economically important crop palm mainly located in Southeast Asian countries. Recently, a genome survey was conducted on this palm using the Illumina sequencing platform, with a very low (21.5%) BUSCO genome completeness score, and most of them (∼78%) are either fragmented or missing. Thus, in this study, the sago palm genome completeness was further improved with the utilization of the Nanopore sequencing platform that produced longer reads. A hybrid genome assembly was conducted, and the outcome was a much complete sago palm genome with BUSCO completeness achieved at as high as 97.9%, with only ∼2% of them either fragmented or missing. The estimated genome size of the sago palm is 509,812,790 bp in this study. A sum of 33,242 protein-coding genes was revealed from the sago palm genome and around 96.39% of them had been functionally annotated. An investigation on the carbohydrate metabolism KEGG pathways also unearthed that starch synthesis was one of the major sago palm activities. The genome data obtained from this work is indispensable for future molecular evolutionary and genome-wide association studies on the economically important sago palm.

    Rice straw is one of the most abundant biomass wastes derived from rice cultivation activities. The current rice straw management practice during the wet (rainy) season in Malaysia involves the integration of straw into the soil. This practice offers both advantages and disadvantages to rice farmers and the environment. Straw integration may improve nutrient availability while concurrently causing high greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions due to the increase in soil carbon activity. In this work, the use of microbial substrate to enhance the degradation of straw was compared to an existing technique that used no additional inputs during soil integration. The data collected consisted of overall microbial enzyme production, soil organic carbon, soil nitrogen content, seasonal greenhouse gas emissions, plant characteristics, and crop yield. In brief, these data can be used as means of demonstrating the effects of improved straw degradation during the pre-season on the overall GHG emissions during the planting season.
