    Copy denture procedure was introduced in 1962 for the construction of spare
    denture. However, throughout the years, the procedure has undergone developments in terms of
    the techniques and materials used for the construction of the replica denture. One of the most
    popular methods to construct the replica is by using soap box. A group of researchers from USIM
    have invented Denture Box and the product has been registered with Malaysian Industrial design
    (MY-16-00546-0101). Therefore, a study was conducted to assess the satisfaction of the Denture Box

    In nowadays world, aesthetic dentistry has becoming a trend with the improvement of dental technology and materials. Composite resin becomes the material of choice as it offers good aesthetics, longevity and allow for minimally intervention approach. There are various ways of composite restorative techniques recommended to make out the best restorative outcome. Direct restorative technique promise acceptable cost, appointment time and color matching but it is a challenge for the clinician especially for extensive cavities. Indirect technique is good for extended cavity and providing less operator error, however, it requires multiple appointments, higher cost and laboratory involvement. Computer-aided design/ computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology might reduce the number of appointments, however, it will cause more financial burden to the patient and the clinician. Therefore, semi-direct technique was introduced, it combines the benefits of direct and indirect technique and this technique can be done without the use of any advanced technology and give out a good treatment outcome.

    In this study, the depth of cure of composite resins cured within simulated root canals by means of light-transmitting plastic posts was compared to that achieved by the conventional light-curing method. Six sizes of posts with diameters of 1.05 mm, 1.20 mm, 1.35 mm, 1.50 mm, 1.65 mm, and 1.80 mm were investigated. In general, the larger the post diameter, the greater was the depth of cure. There were significant differences in the depth of cure between the control and all sizes of posts investigated. There were also significant differences between the various post diameters except for the 1.35 mm and 1.50 mm diameter posts. It was possible to achieve a depth of cure exceeding 11 mm using these light-transmitting posts.

    This article presents an alternative to the conventional swing-lock de sign of removable partial denture construction. It incorporates the principles of sectional dentures as well as the swing-lock concept and overcomes some of the limitations of conventional swing-lock dentures. I-bar struts and stainless steel keepers form part of the first section of the denture. The second part of the denture consists of the denture base with the artificial teeth and magnetic retention units. This system has been used successfully in a number of patients whose situations were suitable for the conventional swing-lock design.

    PURPOSE:
    Internet social media offers a rich source for soliciting the public's views on health issues. This qualitative research, using You-Tube as a platform, aimed to explore the public's perspectives on management of dental fear and anxiety (DFA) in pediatric patients.

    METHODS:
    Using three keywords ("dental fear," "dental phobia," and "dental anxiety"), YouTube videos were searched. Twenty-seven videos related to DFA in children and adolescents were reviewed by three investigators, including a nondental layperson. Inductive thematic analysis was adopted for interpreting the data.

    RESULTS:
    Several strategies were considered useful for controlling DFA in pediatric patients, including: verbal and nonverbal communication to establish closeness and effective guidance (explanation, permission-seeking, reassurance, and negotiation); desensitization to dental settings and procedures; tell-show-do; positive reinforcement; distraction by imagination and thoughtful designs of clinic; and parental presence and support. Some self-coping strategies adopted by patients alleviated their DFA, such as self-reasoning and trust-building through long-term connection. Dentists' clinical competence, favorable treatment outcomes, and state-of-the-art devices and technologies (dental lasers, intraoral camera, and adapted anaesthesia method) contributed to reducing DFA.

    CONCLUSIONS:
    Authentic testimonials in YouTube videos endorsed and interpreted a variety of strategies adoptable by patients, parents, and dental professionals for managing children's and adolescents' dental fears and anxieties.
