Research has shown that smoking has bad implications on smokers and society as a whole. For that
matter, the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOHM) have taken various initiatives through information
technology and social media to educate the public and students about the negative effects of smoking.
The objective of this study is to identify the level of awareness among students on factors which lead to
smoking behaviour and the negative effects it has on society. This study was conducted on 228
students at the Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies, Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The
research is quantitative in nature using questionnaire method. The quantitative data were then analysed
descriptively in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) to obtain the frequency and percentage.
The finding of the study shows that the level of students’ awareness on factors leading to smoking
habit is at a satisfactory level. The students are aware that peers are the main contributing factor
towards smoking habit. The level of awareness on the harmful effects of smoking is also at a
satisfactory level. The students’ awareness is influenced by their field of study which is Islamic studies
as well as their modest purchasing power considering their average family income range from RM1000
to RM3000. The conclusion of the study is the importance to educate students on the harmful effects of
smoking, as well as to maintain the level of awareness among them.

Background: Level of comfort in working environment can contribute to increase level of health, emotion during working, level of safety, quality and productivity of work. A study of physical factors (heat, noise and lighting) is important to determine the level of comfort during working. This study was carried out to study those physical factors upon comfort level during working among Casting Shop workers in a car manufacturing factory.

Methods: Instruments for the physical monitoring including Questemp°36 Thermal Environment Monitor, Sound Level Meter and Lux Meter were used at seven measured areas. The information about the level of comfort during working was collected using questionnaires among 65 respondents by random sampling method.

Results: Measured data showed there were four measured areas which Wet Bulb Globe Temperature indoor (WBGTi) value are above the standard limit recommended by ACGIH, three measured areas recorded noise level above the standard limit recommended by Factories and Machineries (Noise Exposure) 1989, while there was no measured area recorded lighting reading below the standard limit recommended by MS ISO 8995:2005. Result from questionnaire found that the majority of the workers did not feel comfortable towards the heat and noise level in their workplace while most of the respondents felt comfortable towards lighting level in their workplace. Mean of WBGTi reading and lighting reading have a significant difference (p

Dielectric material CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) prepared by solid state technique, was calcined at different temperatures (700 - 1000 o C) for 6 and 12 hours. The calcined powder were analysed by XRD to identify the CCTO formation. Then the microstructure was observed by SEM. The CCTO single phase formation was firstly detected on sample calcined at 700 o C for 12 hours. The microstructure obtained shows the particles were spherical in shape. The grain getting larger as calcination temperature was increased.

All patients with a first-ever stroke admitted to the HUSM (Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia) from 1997 to 1998 were included in this study. All risk factors were determined and analysed prospectively. There were 158 cases of stroke admitted during the study period. The majority of the patients were Malays (86.1%), with a male preponderance. The mean age (SD) of the patients with stroke was 59.3 (12.28) years. Hypertension was present in both cerebral infarct and intracerebral haemorrhage patients at almost the same rate (65.2 and 69.2%, respectively). The overall mortality was 37%, and most patients died in the 1st month after stroke (34%). We hope this study will highlight the problems associated with the presentation and management of stroke in Southeast Asia.

Wi-Fi has shown enormous potential for indoor localization because of its wide utilization and availability. Enabling the use of Wi-Fi for indoor localization necessitates the construction of a fingerprint and the adoption of a learning algorithm. The goal is to enable the use of the fingerprint in training the classifiers for predicting locations. Existing models of machine learning Wi-Fi-based localization are brought from machine learning and modified to accommodate for practical aspects that occur in indoor localization. The performance of these models varies depending on their effectiveness in handling and/or considering specific characteristics and the nature of indoor localization behavior. One common behavior in the indoor navigation of people is its cyclic dynamic nature. To the best of our knowledge, no existing machine learning model for Wi-Fi indoor localization exploits cyclic dynamic behavior for improving localization prediction. This study modifies the widely popular online sequential extreme learning machine (OSELM) to exploit cyclic dynamic behavior for achieving improved localization results. Our new model is called knowledge preserving OSELM (KP-OSELM). Experimental results conducted on the two popular datasets TampereU and UJIndoorLoc conclude that KP-OSELM outperforms benchmark models in terms of accuracy and stability. The last achieved accuracy was 92.74% for TampereU and 72.99% for UJIndoorLoc.
