During a period of 1 month all medical practitioners were invited to notify cases of gonorrhoea. 123 were obtained including 108 men, 10 women and 5 children. Of 25 hospital cases 23 were acute and 2 chronic; 23 were all infected by prostitutes. Intercourse took place in hotels in 17, in private houses in 6 and elsewhere in 2; introduction was made by taxi-drivers in 11, hotel staff in 3, friends in 3 and not stated 8; places of contact were-bars 16, cabaret 1, streets 2, not stated 6. The author thinks that supervision of prostitutes would help but that contact tracing would be a better long-term policy.

The advantages and benefits of breastfeeding and the scientific basis for them are already well-documented and made known to the health and related professions, policy makers as well as the lay public. The role of breastfeeding in child survival, protection, growth and development has been the focus of several international deliberations, including the Convention of the Protection, Promotion and Support of Breastfeeding (August 1990) and The World Summit for Children (October 1990). Follow-ing the World Summit, our Prime Minister, on 18 July 1991, signed the World Declaration for Child Survival, Protection and Development. (Copied from article).

To date there is no standard protocol on evaluation of the masticatory performance in complete denture wearer even though many methods had been described in the literature for measurement of the masticatory performance of the complete denture wearers. The masticatory performances were measured either subjectively or objectively, but no positive correlation was found between subjective and objective measurement. Therefore, there is a need to standardize the objective measurement, as subjective measurements rely on patients’ perceptions, which is not reliable. Intra individual and inter individual variations that exist support the need to standardize the method of measurement.

Two patients aged twelve and ten years who fulfilled the criteria of severe aplastic anaemia as defined by the International Aplastic Anaemia Group' were treated with cyclosporin for six months. A normalisation of blood count and bone marrow was seen after six months of therapy in one patient. Serious side effects were seen in the other patient and cyclosporin had to be discontinued.

nuclei are the best candidates to study collective properties of low-lying states since these
nuclei are quite well studied experimentally. Phenomenological model is used to evaluate the positive-parity states energy spectra and the structure of these nuclei by taking into account the Coriolis mixing between states. Deviations from the adiabatic conditions are found to be occurred.
