Learning is often quoted as a lifelong process. In other words, life is about learning. As prominent institutions, universities are concerned with valued and measurable learning among undergraduate students so that their mastery level of a particular content knowledge can be quantitatively gauged. Of many types of assessments, summative assessment plays a greater role in majority of engineering courses due to nature of the content knowledge. This paper mathematically investigates the fairness issue of equal weightage for all summative assessments i.e., assignments, mid-term test and end-term examination. A multiple objective optimization on the basis of ratio analysis (MOORA) is utilized to assign equal weight for the aforementioned assessments. It was found that the number of students failing the selected engineering course increases by about five times using the MOORA method. The finding clearly reveals the advantages of the former method (unequal weights) as compared to MOORA method in terms of catering students with different learning styles and speed of knowledge acquisition.

A glucose meter (or glucometer) is a medical device for determining the approximate concentration of glucose in the
blood by pricking a finger to draw blood sample using a sharp needle. However, diabetic patient has quite slow level in
wound healing process which causes their fingers constantly in a state of wounded and exposed to bacteria. More
importantly, two main factors for the weakness of invasive technique is a painful process and cost often because constant
monitoring of glucose level is very expensive. The main objective of this research is to design and develop a non-invasive
optical measuring technique to measure body glucose level automatically and painlessly using a laser pointer and a
smartphone. Images captured by the smartphone is analysed using a Matlab software to determine the refractive index of
the urine sample. Calibration of the system is performed by correlating the results with that of the glucometer. Both
results compare well with R-squared value of 92.9%. The system can be potentially used for remote health and patient
    monitoring.

Genetically Modified Foods (GMFs) has been a matter considerable interest and worldwide public controversy. Due to
the world’s fastest growing recognition that addresses food safety issues and other uncertainties. In order to solve this
problem, conducted research is appropriate to evaluate the consumers’ awareness towards the existing of genetically
modified foods in the urban and rural area in Sarawak. This study conducted to identify the level of awareness towards
consumers because they had little knowledge on genetically modified foods and they also cannot assess genetically
modified foods by themselves. Furthermore, this study will provide the firm’s top management to more concern about
genetically modified and also provides knowledge for the further research. A 46 structured questions consumer survey
has been prepared with a total 351 respondents from urban and 100 respondents from rural had been collected
emphasizing on awareness of the consumers about genetically modified foods, the acceptability of GMFs by consumers
and legislations and information sources were assessed in the questionnaire. The results show that the level of genetically
modified food in both urban and rural area is very low. Consumers failed to indicate or identify its appearance due to
lack of labeling and information in packaging. The study showed that the consumers were not aware which products
contain genetically modified despite living in urban or rural areas. Since GMFs will be merging in the future, there is
need finding out the consumer’s awareness, attitudes, and perceptions toward GMFs. This study will provide a better
understanding of the company, marketer, and consumers on the level of consumers toward GMFs. Moreover, by
identifying awareness, attitudes, and perceptions allow the companies and marketers to fulfill the needs and wants of
consumers of difference segment as well preferences.

Art is a subject area that blends philosophy, aesthetic, cultural, scientific discipline, psychology, propagation,
anthropology, comparative study, and historical art. The multi-racial and multi-cultural elements in Malaysia have
influenced the artist in creating their artworks. Through artistic talents, Muslim artists can use various techniques
and arts as a thorough force to call in and praise the greatness of Allah S.W.T. Thus, it is the duty of the artist to
translate Islamic ideas into artistic language. Agreeing to the Islamic view, artistic creativity is the urge or force
given by Allah S.W.T., which runs up the importance of Allah S.W.T. In addition, art also enhances the union or
unity. Islamic art does not revolve around individual humans, but it applies to social orientation based on the
requirements of fellow human beings. Muslim art could include the contextual conditions, an artist’s intention,
and expressly because not all artworks have the same instruction with the ultimate destination of art actions that is
the Unity of God or Tawhid. So, with local (Muslim / Malay) shifting of identity, demonstrate the changing of the
Malaysian cultural identity. The objectives of this paper are to dignify the Understanding Process in Visual Art
that have similar philosophies, knowledge of Islam and Malay civilization. This model can contribute to the
development of a guideline that has been improved as compared to the existing one. This theoretical framework
has been designed for understanding with the chronicle of contemporary art, which keeps to the aim of the Islamic
art concepts, especially in lifting up the concept of Tawhid is the ultimate expiration of Muslim art.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to measure the hearing level among smokers using high frequency sensitive testing which are extended high frequency Pure Tone Audiometry (EHFPTA) and Distortional Product of Otoacoustics Emissions (DPOAE). This study focuses on four specific objectives which determine the hearing level of smokers at high frequencies, identifying amplitude of DPOAE in measuring damage level of hearing cell in cochlea, correlating the smoking duration on hearing and lastly, smoking quantity per day effects on hearing. Methods: 30 subjects participated in this study whereby they were divided into testing groups (smokers) and control groups (non-smokers). Results: The result of this study found that there are elevation of threshold at 16 KHz, 18 KHz and 20 KHz among smokers compared to non-smokers depending on duration (years) and quantity of smoking (per day). The higher the number of cigarettes being smoked per day, and the longer duration of smoking, the higher the potential of getting hearing loss. This study result also found that the longer the duration of smoking (years), it also may increase the chance of hearing elevation especially at high frequency. Mean amplitudes of DPOAE among smokers was significantly low compared to non-smokers except on 1.5 KHz and 8 KHz. Conclusion: This study implies that the damaging effects of smoking tend to reduce the hearing sensitivity at extended high frequency first which later can be progressively affected on other frequency range of hearing

There are many factors that lead to the variation of basic salaries among fresh graduate and employees. The need forbasic salary varies according to the responsibility of an employee. The variation of basic salary not influenced by theneed of the employees, it rather depends on the working skills and experiences. This study focuses on the factorstowards the perception of fresh graduate employees on the basic salary based on the factors of cost of living, qualification, responsibility, and scope of work. The data were collected from Maxis employees in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. The findings revealed that all factors were positively correlated to the perception towards basic salariesamong fresh graduates. Somehow, the perceptions on their basic salaries are significantly influenced only by the cost ofliving and scope of work, positively. Employees have a high expectation on basicsalaries if the cost of living is gettinghigher. This may encourage some employees to get a new job with a better offer because they believe that more skillsand experiences will lead towards a better job with a higher salary

Degenerative mitral valve prolapse without proper monitoring can cause severe mitral valve failure and occasionally lead to sudden death if the surgical correction is not performed ontime. In most cases, mitral valve prolapse would cause mitral regurgitation which in a severe case would lead to left ventricle failure due to hemodynamic burden. The aim of this study is to develop a model to predict the degeneration behaviour of mitral valve which will aid the medical practitioner to estimate the mitral valve condition based on the available mitral regurgitation data by echocardiogram assessment. Minimal hemodynamic model has been adopted with modification to obtain mitral regurgitation severity information. The stress-strain behaviour of mitral leaflet has also been studied to model the degeneration of the mitral valve leaflet. Both models were validated with the previously published data generated using Windkessel and Burkhoff methods. The coupling of both models gave the degenerative behaviour of mitral valve leaflet in relation with mitral regurgitation severity. The mitral valve degeneration was assessed by mitral valve leaflet elasticity properties while the severity of mitral regurgitation was measured by the volume of mitral regurgitation into the left atrium. It was found that the reduction of mitral valve leaflet elasticity would cause an increase of the mitral regurgitation volume into the left atrium. Mitral regurgitation severity was found to be less than 10% of left ventricle stroke volume when the mitral valve leaflet degenerates more than 90%. At this point, even with a slight increase of less than 10% in the degeneration of mitral valve leaflet, the regurgitation volume might increase suddenly from 5% up to 95% of the left ventricle stroke volume
