signed in London on July 8, 1963 by the representatives of the British government, the Federation of
Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak. All parties agreed to the change in name from Federation of
Malaya to Malaysia. The declaration of Malaysia was made on September 16, 1963 simultaneously
throughout the country. This study uses secondary sources and library research methods. The findings
show that Singapore's existence in Malaysia was seen to have raised racial issues leading to the
separation of Singapore from Malaysia on August 9, 1965. Ethnic-related problems need to be

Present research investigated the impact of executive dysfunction on academic performance among
students in their middle childhood. It was hypothesized that school teacher’s rating of executive
dysfunction in students can significantly predict their performance in Mathematics and Science
subjects. The study used primary data which was collected from public schools of Lahore. An
indigenized executive dysfunction inventory was constructed for this purpose and psychometric
properties were established. It was postulated that student’s performance in Science and Math will vary
based on their executive dysfunction and the results attested to this hypothesis. Demographic properties
were also evaluated through age, number of siblings, gender, family system, and mother profession.
Statistical findings revealed that higher level of executive dysfunction is associated with lower level of

The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of integrative therapy treatment towards
depression and aggression among prison inmates. Integrative therapy in this study refers to treatment
module which are consisted of four integrated theories in a counselling process. It involved the
combined therapy of Person Client Centred (PCC), Rational Emotions Behaviour Therapy (REBT)
and Choice Theory Reality Therapy (CTRT) as technical treatment. Meanwhile, Stimulus Organism
Response (SOR) act as educational principle or training. Integrative therapy is conducted on the
respondents for six session of group counselling. This study is a quasi-experiment involving 160 depressed prison inmates (80 treatment; 80 control) and 140 aggressive inmates (70 treatment; 70
control) from five prison institutions as the respondent for this study using purposive sampling.
Inmates are identified as respondents using high cutting point of depression using Beck Depression
Inventory (BDI) and high aggression using Aggressive Questionnaires (AQ). For the data analysis, nonparametric
test such as Mann-Whitney Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test were used based on the
normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk test. Result from the Mann-Whitney Test
shows that the treatment group had higher declining rate as compared to the controlled group for
depression and aggression. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test also shows the same result as the treatment
group indicates a decline in rate from the pre and post of the treatment compared to the controlled
group. The results of this study are hope to act as the medium for using integrative model which is
rarely use in studies in this country especially in the field of treatment for prison inmates. It is also
expected that it can be applied in different setting which offer treatment service such as hospitals,

The objective of this study is to identify the level of instructional leadership, efficacy and the routine
duties of the principal including their influence towards academic achievement of the school. Three
instrument have been used in the collection of data namely Principal Instruction Management Rating
Scale (PIMRS); Principals Sense Of Efficacy Scale (PSES); and The Principal’s Routine Duties.
Whilst the academic achievement statistic refers to the SPM examinations result for the 2011 that was
sourced directly from the JPNS examination unit. All the instruments was found to have a high level of
genuineness and reliability with Cronbach’s alfa multiplier at 0.94. Altogether 650 set of
questionnaires have been distributed to the secondary school in the southern zone namely Kuching,
Samarahan, Sri Aman and Betong Division and 91% of them have been collected successfully. From
the total number, 487 set have been processed after it was found to be complete and have fully satisfied
the set characteristics. The research data has been analysed using SPSS software version 21.0. The
result of the research shows that the level of instructional leadership, efficacy and the principal’s
routine duties are high. Nevertheless, there is no significant and clear relationship between those
variables with the school academic achievement. This shows that instructional leadership, efficacy and
principal routine duties are not factors that would absolutely determine the academic achievement
without the support of the other factors. Nonetheless, sub scale variable of the instructional leadership
namely coordinate curriculum (r=.123, p=.01) and incentive given to teachers (r=.094, p=.04) shows
that there is a significant relationship with the school academic achievement but not for the sub scale
for efficacy and principal’s routine duties. Arising thereof, the principal is advised to implement
capability enhancement, streamline interpersonal relationship, effective work delegation in
collaboration with their subordinate in order to attain a more positive academic achievement. For this
purpose, the principals are required at the outset to equip themselves by enhancing their knowledge,
garner more experience, increase skilfulness including keeping abreast with the latest ability related to
their duties as an instructional leader. In order words, the principal which lead the school should equip
their self with the current requirement including applying “Leadership For a Need” culture.

Conflicts that occur due to overlap between work and family matters are important topics in today’s
organizational context. Work-family conflict can be defined as a form of role conflict where the
demands of work and family cannot be aligned in several ways. Some previous studies have mentioned
that work-family conflicts negatively affect individuals such as emotional fatigue that ultimately lead
to stress and disturb the psychological well-being. From that perspective, social support can help to
reduce the stressful experience that is caused by work-family conflicts and improve the psychological
    well-being.
There are two elements of social support originating from (1) work domain support; such
as organization, supervisor and co-workers whereas, (2) non-work domain supports: can come from
spouse, family members and friends. Thus, these two elements of social support seemed to be
important elements to ease the burden of stressful experience among employees especially in workfamily
    conflict.
