In this paper, we presented a new key exchange method based on decomposition problem for elliptic curve cryptography. We showed that our key exchange method was not only an alternative method for designing keys in cryptography, but it also has improved security condition from the previous key exchange based on decomposition problem over noncommutative groups. We proposed elliptic an curve cryptography to be the new platform for our key exchange protocol and showed how it was implemented. The security of our protocol was based on discrete logarithm problem, which was not infeasible and strictly difficult to retrieve in elliptic curve cryptography without any prior knowledge.
In this paper we determined the estimate of p-adic sizes of common zeros of partial derivative polynomials associated with a cubic form whose indicator diagrams have one overlapping segment by using Newton polyhedron technique. We showed that the p-adic sizes of such common zeros can be found explicitly on the overlapping segment of the indicator diagrams associated with the polynomials.
A quadratic stochastic operator (Qso) is usually used to present the time evolution of differing species in biology. Some quadratic stochastic operators have been studied by Lotka and Volterra. The general problem in the nonlinear operator theory is to study the behavior of operators. This problem was not fully finished even for quadratic stochastic operators which are the simplest nonlinear operators. To study this problem, several classes of QSO were investigated. In this paper, we study the fri)-Qso defined on 2D simplex. We first classify 4-(a)-QS0 into 2 non-conjugate classes. Further, we investigate the dynamics of these classes of such operators.
In this paper, we have examined the effectiveness of the quarter-sweep iteration concept on conjugate gradient normal residual (CGNR) iterative method by using composite Simpson's (CS) and finite difference (FD) discretization schemes in solving Fredholm integro-differential equations. For comparison purposes, Gauss- Seidel (GS) and the standard or full- and half-sweep CGNR methods namely FSCGNR and HSCGNR are also presented. To validate the efficacy of the proposed method, several analyses were carried out such as computational complexity and percentage reduction on the proposed and existing methods.
In this paper, we present a new method for solving nonlinear general two point boundary value problems. A method based on finite differences and rational function approximation and we call this method as rational approximation method. A rational approximation method is applied to construct the numerical solution for two point boundary value problems. The novel method is tested on three model problems. Thus the numerical results obtained for these model problems show the performance and efficiency of the developed method.
In this paper, the differential transformation method (DTM) is employed to find the semi-analytical solutions of SIS and SI
epidemic models for constant population. Firstly, the theoretical background of DTM is studied and followed by constructing
the solutions of SIS and SI epidemic models. Furthermore, the convergence analysis of DTM is proven by proposing two
theorems. Finally, numerical computations are made and compared with the exact solutions. From the numerical results,
the solutions produced by DTM approach the exact solutions which agreed with the proposed theorems. It can be seen that
the DTM is an alternative technique to be considered in solving many practical problems involving differential equations.
In this paper, we develop algebraic order conditions for two-point block hybrid method up to order five using the approach
of B-series. Based on the order conditions, we derive fifth order two-point block explicit hybrid method for solving
special second order ordinary differential equations (ODEs), where the existing explicit hybrid method of order five is
used to be the method at the first point. The method is then trigonometrically fitted so that it can be suitable for solving
highly oscillatory problems arising from special second order ODEs. The new trigonometrically-fitted block method is
tested using a set of oscillatory problems over a very large interval. Numerical results clearly showed the superiority
of the method in terms of accuracy and execution time compared to other existing methods in the scientific literature.
This paper presents an effective approach for the optimization of an in-feed centreless cylindrical grindingof EN52 austenitic grade steel (DIN: X45CrSi93) with multiple performance characteristics based on thegrey relational analysis. To study the effect of the entire space of the input variables, nine experimentalruns, based on the Taguchi method of L9 orthogonal arrays, were performed to determine the best factorlevel condition. The response table and response graph for each level of the machining parameters wereobtained from the grey relational grade. In this study, the in-feed centreless cylindrical grinding processparameters, such as dressing feed, grinding feed, dwell time and cycle time, were optimized by takinginto consideration the multiple-performance characteristics like surface roughness and out of cylindricity.By analyzing the grey relational grade, it was observed that dressing feed, grinding feed and cycle timehad significant effect on the responses. The optimal multiple performance characteristics were achievedwith dressing feed at level 1 (5 mm/min), grinding feed at level 2 (6 mm/min), dwell time at level 2(2.5 s), and cycle time at level 2 (11 s). It is clearly shown that the above performance characteristics inthe in-feed Centreless cylindrical grinding process can be improved effectively through this approach.
This paper investigates and determines the solutions for the Diophantine equation x2 + 4.7b = y2r, where
x, y, b are all positive intergers and r > 1. By substituting the values of r and b respectively, generators of
x and yr can be determined and classified into different categories. Then, by using geometric progression
method, a general formula for each category can be obtained. The necessary conditions to obtain the
integral solutions of x and y are also investigated.
Paper-based analytical devices (PADs) with four new designs could be fabricated using commercially available home-based scan-and-cut printer. They serve for miniaturised platforms for chemical analysis. Replication analysis of a sample together with the calibration (using the analyte standards at different concentrations) can be completed in a single run, by utilising smartphone as the detector. Some new approaches for choosing detection zones were suggested. The four proposed PAD designs here were used as models in microliter scale operation to demonstrate the well-known chemistries of colorimetric determinations of iron, phosphate, and hardness using 1,10-phenanthroline and simple aqueous guava leaf extract; molybdate, and EBT-EDTA complexometric titration, respectively, through calibrations: where Blue (B) value = 88.2log [Fe3+] - 80.8, R2 = 0.989; B value = 1.75 [Fe3+] + 0.198, R2 = 0.999; Grey scale (I) value = 1.77 [Fe3+] - 1.22, R2 = 0.997; Red (R) value = 16.1log [PO43-] + 8.95, R2 = 0.999; Hue (H) value = 43.3log [Ca2+] + 233, R2 = 0.994, respectively. For the hardness, using one of the PAD designs, true titration was also possible. Applications of the proposed devices and procedures were demonstrated for real world samples with validation. Additionally, kinetic study of the molybdenum blue for phosphate was demonstrated using one of the PADs.
The requirement for high quality pulps which are widely used in paper industries has increased the demand for pulp refining (beating) process. Pulp refining is a promising approach to improve the pulp quality by changing the fiber characteristics. The diversity of research on the effect of refining on fiber properties which is due to the different pulp sources, pulp consistency and refining equipment has interested us to provide a review on the studies over the last decade. In this article, the influence of pulp refining on structural properties i.e., fibrillations, fine formation, fiber length, fiber curl, crystallinity and distribution of surface chemical compositions is reviewed. The effect of pulp refining on electrokinetic properties of fiber e.g., surface and total charges of pulps is discussed. In addition, an overview of different refining theories, refiners as well as some tests for assessing the pulp refining is presented.
The transformation method (TM) of fuzzy arithmetic is aimed at simulation and analysis of a system. The aim of this paper is to use fuzzy arithmetic based on the TM on a state space of a steam turbine system. The model is then used to identify the degree of influence of each parameter on the system. Simulation and analysis of the system are presented in this paper.
In this paper, we study the numerical method for solving second order Fuzzy
Differential Equations (FDEs) using Block Backward Differential Formulas (BBDF)
under generalized concept of higher-order fuzzy differentiability. Implementation of
the method using Newton iteration is discussed. Numerical results obtained by BBDF
are presented and compared with Backward Differential Formulas (BDF) and exact
solutions. Several numerical examples are provided to illustrate our methods.
The aim of this paper is to identify, review and carry out comparison to seven guidelines where the main focus is on its risk
assessment elements related to confined space activities. This is due to lack of the specific approach of the Legislation for confined
space such as entry procedure requirements, risk assessment method, existing practice of risk assessment is too general and additional
references are required for conducting risk assessment which would lead to poor response from industries. The selected guidelines will
be summarized on its requirements, followed by a review of each guideline and finally the comparison of Legislations will be carried
out. The results from the study would be used as a contribution factor to promote an ideal method in developing an effective risk
assessment tools for working safely in confined space. Furthermore, several literatures which have been referred could give additional
input for developing the risk assessment tools.
In recent years, many classification models have been developed and applied to increase their accuracy. The concept of distance between two samples or two variables is a fundamental concept in multivariate analysis. This paper proposed a tool that used different similarity distance approaches with ranking method based on Mean Average Precision (MAP). In this study, several similarity distance methods were used, such as Euclidean, Manhattan, Chebyshev, Sorenson and Cosine. The most suitable distance measure was based on the smallest value of distance between the samples. However, the real solution showed that the results were not accurate as and thus, MAP was considered the best approach to overcome current limitations.
Markov map is one example of interval maps where it is a piecewise expanding
map and obeys the Markov property. One well-known example of Markov map is the
doubling map, a map which has two subintervals with equal partitions. In this paper, we
are interested to investigate another type of Markov map, the so-called skewed doubling
map. This map is a more generalized map than the doubling map. Thus, the aims of this
paper are to find the fixed points as well as the periodic points for the skewed doubling
map and to investigate the sensitive dependence on initial conditions of this map. The
method considered here is the cobweb diagram. Numerical results suggest that there exist
dense of periodic orbits for this map. The sensitivity of this map to initial conditions is
also verified where small differences in initial conditions give different behaviour of the
orbits in the map.
The application of concrete filled steel tubes(CFSTs) as composite members has widely been used around the world and is becoming popular day by day for structural application especially in earthquake regions. This paper indicates that an experimental study was conducted to comprehend the behaviour of T-stub end plates connected to concrete filled thin-walled steel tube (CFTST) with different types of bolts and are subjected to pullout load. The bolts used are normal type bolt M20 grade 8.8 and Lindapter Hollo-bolt HB16 and HB20. A series of 10 mm thick T-stub end plates were fastened to 2 mm CFTST of 200 mm x 200 mm in cross-section. All of the specimens were subjected to monotonic pull-out load until failure. Based on testresults, the Lidapter Hollo-boltsshowed better performance compare to normal bolts. The highest ultimate limit load for T-stub end plate fasten with Lindapter Hollo-bolt is four times higher than with normal bolt although all end plates show similar behaviour and failure mode patterns. It can be concluded that T-stub end plate with Lindapter Hollo-bolt shows a better performance in the service limit and ultimate limit states according to the regulations in the design codes.
The discretization of the second-order linear self-adjoint ellliptic partial differential equation problem subject to periodic boundary conditions results in a system of linear equations of the form Mu = s, where M is a block cyclic tridiagonal square matric. In this paper, the relationship between the spectral radius and overrelaxation factor for the problem is derived.
The development of economy is closely related with the inflation rate of the country. Generally the inflation can be measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPl). The aim of this paper is using overlapping measure and cumulative measure to measure the inflation. In overall, these two methods are adequate for measuring the inflation. As a result, monthly measure is useful because it believe can give a perfect measure (since its sample is large) and can get rid of or smaller the error. Besides that, the value of the weighted CPl and the unweighted CPl are almost same. As the result, the unweighted of CPl is used to measure the inflation. The result of this two methods are satisfactory.
