    The International Working Formulation divides non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) into three grades: low, intermediate and high. This grading system implies rate of tumour growth and hence prognosis. Ki-67 antigen is a proliferation-related nuclear antigen and bcl-2 oncogene product is known to inhibit apoptosis. This study aimed to determine the pattern of expression of Ki-67 antigen and bcl-2 oncoprotein in various grades of NHL. Paraffin-embedded tissues from 42 cases of NHL (7 low, 15 intermediate, 20 high grade) were retrieved from the files of the Department of Pathology, University of Malaya. Ki-67 antigen and bcl-2 oncoprotein were detected using immunohistochemistry. The percentage of positively stained neoplastic cells was determined by semi-quantitative estimation and given scores ranging from 0 to 6. Partition chi square test demonstrated the association of Ki-67 antigen expression and histological grade (p = 0.007). There was no significant difference in Ki-67 antigen expression between intermediate and high grade malignant lymphomas (p = 0.28), whereas significant difference was demonstrated between low and intermediate/high grade tumours (p = 0.003). Bcl-2 oncoprotein expression in the neoplastic cells varied widely within the three histological grades. Statistical analysis showed no association between the expression of bcl-2 oncoprotein and histological grade (p = 0.25). Ki-67 immunostaining is therefore a useful adjunct to histological grading of NHL.

    BACKGROUND: Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is one of the subtypes of head and neck cancers. It occurs rarely, and its prevalence depends mainly on geographical location. Modern-day research is focused on coupling nanotechnology and traditional medicine for combating cancers. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized from Solanum xanthocarpum (Sx) leaf extract using reduction method.

    METHODS: Characterization of the synthesized AuNPs was done by different techniques such as ultraviolet-visible spectrum absorption, X-ray diffraction, dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis.

    RESULTS: All the results showed the successful green synthesis of AuNPs from Sx, which induced apoptosis of C666-1 cell line (NPC cell line). There was a decline in both cell viability and colony formation in C666-1 cells upon treatment with Sx-AuNPs. The cell death was proved to be caused by autophagy and mitochondrial-dependent apoptotic pathway.

    CONCLUSION: Thus, due to their anticancer potential, these nanoparticles coupled with Sx can be used for in vivo applications and clinical research in future.

    Value co-creation (VCC) goes through the stage of co-production, customer experience, service-dominant logic, and service ecosystem. The integration of science and technology has become a key factor to the process of VCC. The rise and application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has added a new driving force to VCC and began to affect its original practical logic. Based on the consumer perspective, this study uses Q-methodology to measure consumer cognitive attitude toward the use of AI technology in VCC, aiming to explore the key factors that affect VCC. The study found that content quality, information security, efficiency concern, and degree of manipulation have become the important concerns of consumers for VCC under AI integration. Moreover, their different statements have their specific focus and direction. The study demonstrates and analyzes the importance of the four factors and proposes the combination of human and non-human actors (technology and system) to shape the new model of VCC in the future, which is worth further deepening and exploring for academia and enterprises.

    ING2 (inhibitor of growth protein-2) is a member of the ING-gene family and participates in diverse cellular processes involving tumor suppression, DNA repair, cell cycle regulation, and cellular senescence. As a subunit of the Sin3 histone deacetylase complex co-repressor complex, ING2 binds to H3K4me3 to regulate chromatin modification and gene expression. Additionally, ING2 recruits histone methyltransferase (HMT) activity for gene repression, which is independent of the HDAC class I or II pathway. However, the physiological function of ING2 in mouse preimplantation embryo development has not yet been characterized previously. The expression, localization and function of ING2 during preimplantation development were investigated in this study. We showed increasing expression of ING2 within the nucleus from the 4-cell embryo stage onwards; and that down-regulation of ING2 expression by endoribonuclease-prepared small interfering RNA (esiRNA) microinjection results in developmental arrest during the morula to blastocyst transition. Embryonic cells microinjected with ING2-specific esiRNA exhibited decreased blastulation rate compared to the negative control. Further investigation of the underlying mechanism indicated that down-regulation of ING2 significantly increased expression of p21, whilst decreasing expression of HDAC1. These results suggest that ING2 may play a crucial role in the process of preimplantation embryo development through chromatin regulation.

    A 21-year-old lady diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian yolk sac tumor (YST) underwent primary cytoreductive fertility sparing surgery, followed by conventional courses of platinum-based chemotherapy and etoposide. Recurrence at cul-da-sac was noted after a short period of remission and secondary debulking performed followed by four cycles of conventional chemotherapy. The patient's disease progressed despite courses of treatments. A joint team management including a hematologist was commenced following the failure of conventional chemotherapies. Two cycles of high-dose chemotherapy (HDCT) with ifosfamide/cisplatin/etoposide (ICE) regimen, followed by autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) were given. With this salvage treatment, she remained in complete remission and disease-free for more than 30 months, while maintaining her reproductive function. These approaches appear to be effective as a salvage treatment in selected cases of patients with ovarian germ cell tumor, especially those who failed primary conventional chemotherapy.

    BACKGROUND: The Malay spoken in Brunei a South East Asian country where Malay is the national language is distinctive and different from Malay spoken in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. This study aimed to develop a Brunei Malay version of the 5-level EQ-5D questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L) and to assess its psychometric properties among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

    METHODS: The Brunei Malay EQ-5D-5L was developed by culturally adapting two existing Malay versions. A total of 154 Bruneians with T2DM completed the questionnaire in two different points of time with one week apart. Known-groups validity of the utility-based EQ-5D-5L index and visual analogue scale (EQ-VAS) was evaluated by comparing subgroups of patients known to differ in health status. Test-retest reliability was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) or Cohen's kappa.

    RESULTS: As hypothesized, patients known to have 'better' health had higher EQ-5D-5L index scores than those having 'worse' health in all 7 known-groups comparisons. The hypothesized difference in the EQ-VAS scores was observed in only 4 of the 7 known-groups comparisons. Kappa values ranged from 0.206 to 0.446 for the EQ-5D-5L items; the ICC value for the EQ-5D-5L index and EQ-VAS was 0.626 and 0.521, respectively.

    CONCLUSIONS: The utility-based EQ-5D-5L index appears to be valid and reliable for measuring the health of Brunei patients with T2DM. The validity of the EQ-VAS in Brunei requires further investigation.

    Malnutrition in patients is associated with reduced tolerance to treatment-related side effects and higher risks of complications, directly impacting patient prognosis. Consequently, a pressing requirement exists for the development of uncomplicated yet efficient screening methods to detect patients at heightened nutritional risk. The aim of this study was to formulate a concise nutritional risk prediction model for prompt assessment by oncology medical personnel, facilitating the effective identification of hepatocellular carcinoma patients at an elevated nutritional risk. Retrospective cohort data were collected from hepatocellular carcinoma patients who met the study's inclusion and exclusion criteria between March 2021 and April 2022. The patients were categorized into two groups: a normal nutrition group and a malnutrition group based on body composition assessments. Subsequently, the collected data were analyzed, and predictive models were constructed, followed by simplification. A total of 220 hepatocellular carcinoma patients were included in this study, and the final model incorporated four predictive factors: age, tumor diameter, TNM stage, and anemia. The area under the ROC curve for the short-term nutritional risk prediction model was 0.990 [95% CI (0.966-0.998)]. Further simplification of the scoring rule resulted in an area under the ROC curve of 0.986 [95% CI (0.961, 0.997)]. The developed model provides a rapid and efficient approach to assess the short-term nutritional risk of hepatocellular carcinoma patients. With easily accessible and swift indicators, the model can identify patients with potential nutritional risk more effectively and timely.

    The theory of sustainable business process reengineering has been widely applied in various disciplines and has achieved outstanding results. The theory is used to the research of product innovation design method in this work, and the entire process of product innovation design method is reshaped, bringing new development and new direction for product innovation design. Redesign processes in line with societal trends and in a sustainable direction. Furthermore, it may effectively address the inadequacies of conventional design methodologies during the application process. Then, increase corporate efficiency in order to accomplish significant improvements in enterprise cost, quality, service, and speed. The study applies the systematic induction method, research analysis method, and other comprehensive research methods to analyze and study the existing design process and method, as well as excavate the shortcomings and limitations that exist in the process's application of the existing design method. Based on the BPR theory, the sustainable innovation design method for full chain products is divided into five design processes: scenario implantation, requirement extraction, functional determination, structural optimization, formal innovation, and material selection. In addition, the feasibility and accuracy of this method are verified through lifesaving equipment cases. Secondly, three principles for sustainable product innovation design were proposed. On the one hand, products made by designers and college students can truly meet customer needs, generate disruptive innovative designs, and improve the market competitiveness of industrial products. On the other hand, design is no longer a single stage, but a complete, systematic, and comprehensive set of design processes aimed at improving design efficiency and achieving sustainable product development.

    A novel 4D dual-memristor chaotic system (4D-DMCS) is constructed by concurrently introducing two types of memristors: an ideal quadratic smooth memristor and a memristor with an absolute term, into a newly designed jerk chaotic system. The excellent nonlinear properties of the system are investigated by analyzing the Lyapunov exponent spectrum, and bifurcation diagram. The 4D-DMCS retains some characteristics of the original jerk chaotic system, such as the offset boosting in the x-axis direction. Simultaneously, the integration of the two memristors significantly enriches the dynamic behavior of the system, notably augmenting its transitional behaviors, fostering greater multistability, and elevating both spectral entropy and C0 complexity. This augmentation underscores the profound impact of the memristors on the system's overall performance and complexity. The system is implemented through the STM32 microcontroller, further proving the physical realizability of the system. Ultimately, the 4D-DMCS exhibits remarkable performance when applied to image encryption, demonstrating its significant potential and effectiveness in this domain.

    BACKGROUND: The globalization of the media market is forcing decision-makers to understand the psychological processes behind local audiences' enjoyment of foreign TV dramas. Transportation is a well-established psychological theory and framework utilized to elucidate and anticipate audience engagement and enjoyment in the cognitive process of experiencing a narrative text. Although there is a substantial body of literature on transportation and media enjoyment, there is a noticeable absence of studies on the relationship between audiences being "transported" into the narrative world of TV dramas and, particularly, the pleasure audiences derive from interacting with media content within a cross-cultural acceptance context.

    METHOD: The research employs a quantitative design, with responses collected from 353 students enrolled at a Malaysian public university. It aims to validate the influence of social norms, cultural identity, and affective disposition on narrative immersion while watching foreign TV dramas, as well as the subsequent enjoyment of media among local audiences.

    RESULTS: The results indicate that social norms, cultural identity, and affective disposition significantly influence transportation and enjoyment. Furthermore, the influence of cultural identity on social norms has a positive moderating effect on transportation.

    DISCUSSION: Storytelling that complies with social norms while offering new perspectives can maximally engage audiences, potentially altering their narrative cognition and deepening their immersion in fictional narratives. Cultural identity can shape audience perceptions and reactions to cross-cultural media consumption, ultimately influencing the degree to which audiences are drawn into the narrative. Furthermore, the audience's emotional connection to characters in the narrative or to situations in the drama significantly influences the overall cognitive and immersion levels.

    Trigonometric functions serving as boundary functions are excellent nonlinear elements in designing chaotic maps. However, research on the dynamical behaviors dependent on the internal frequency within these boundary functions is not yet sufficient. Hence, in this paper, a novel chaotic map is proposed. Numerical simulations reveal the unique dynamical behaviors dependent on its dominant and recessive internal frequencies, including the control of the map's Lyapunov exponents and their impact on the overall system performance. This unique phenomenon has not been reported before. The system's initial boosting behavior is then captured, further revealing its initial-boosted extreme multistability. This map is implemented on the STM32 platform, demonstrating its practical applicability for potential practical application scenarios. Ultimately, the map is applied in designing a pseudo-random number generator, and its high randomness is validated through the NIST SP800-22 test.

    We report the effects of ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and storage on the performance of ZnO-based inverted quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs). The effects of UV irradiation on the electrical properties of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) were investigated. We demonstrate that the charge balance was enhanced by improving the electron injection. The maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) and power efficiency (PE) of QLEDs were increased by 26% and 143% after UV irradiation for 15 min. In addition, we investigated the storage stabilities of the inverted QLEDs. During the storage period, the electron current from ZnO gradually decreased, causing a reduction in the device current. However, the QLEDs demonstrated improvements in maximum EQE by 20.7% after two days of storage. Our analysis indicates that the suppression of exciton quenching at the interface of ZnO and quantum dots (QDs) during the storage period could result in the enhancement of EQE. This study provides a comprehension of the generally neglected factors, which could be conducive to the realization of high-efficiency and highly storage-stable practical applications.

    Early assessment of malnutrition in cancer patients is very important. The Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) is often used to assess malnutrition in adult cancer patients. However, the diagnostic values of MNA are controversial. We aimed to analyze the diagnostic values of MNA in assessing malnutrition in adult cancer patients. A systematic search was performed using Embase, Web of Science, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, and China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP). Studies comparing MNA with other tools or criteria in cancer patients were included. The quality of the included studies was assessed by the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2). The pooled sensitivity, specificity, the area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUC), and the diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) were calculated using Stata 17.0 and Meta-DiSc1.4. In addition, sensitivity, subgroup, meta-regression, and publication bias analyses were conducted. In total, 11 studies involving 1367 patients involving MNA were included. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, ROC, and DOR were 0.84 (95% CI: 0.81-0.87), 0.66 (95% CI: 0.63-0.69), 0.84 (95% CI: 0.81-0.87), and 16.11 (95% CI: 7.16-36.27), respectively. In the assessment of malnutrition in adult cancer patients, MNA has high sensitivity and moderate specificity.

    It is critical to screen and assess malnutrition in cancer patients early. However, there is no uniform standard for nutritional risk screening and malnutrition assessment. We aimed to analyze the effects of the Nutrition Risk Screening 2002 (NRS2002) in screening for nutritional risk among adult cancer patients, using the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) as the reference standard. A systematic search was performed using PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, and China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP). Studies comparing NRS2002 with PG-SGA in adult cancer patients were included. To assess the quality of the included studies, the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2) was used. The combined sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and the area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUC) were calculated. In addition, sensitivity, subgroup, and publication bias analyses were performed. Thirteen articles involving 3,373 participants were included. The combined sensitivity, specificity, DOR, and AUC were 0.62 (95% CI, 0.60-0.64), 0.86 (95% CI, 0.84-0.88), 11.23 (95% CI, 8.26-15.27), and 0.85 (95% CI, 0.82-0.88), respectively. For adult cancer patients, NRS2002 has moderate sensitivity, high specificity, and high AUC in screening for nutritional risk.

    BACKGROUND: Patients with head and neck cancer are prone to malnutrition, which can lead to adverse health outcomes. A review of the literature revealed a lack of systematic reviews addressing risk factors for malnutrition in this population.

    OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to fill the knowledge gap by identifying risk factors for malnutrition in patients with head and neck cancer.

    METHODS: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed®, Web of Science, Embase®, and Cochrane Library databases, spanning from their inception until June 2023. Three researchers critically evaluated the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Two investigators independently screened the literature and extracted data, resolving any discrepancies through consensus.

    FINDINGS: This systematic review includes 18 studies. The results indicated that risk factors for malnutrition in patients with head and neck cancer encompass disease-related, genetic, lifestyle, nutritional health, physiologic, psychological, and treatment-related factors.

    The latest development in perovskite solar cell (PSC) technology has been significantly influenced by advanced techniques aimed at passivating surface defects. This work presents a new approach called thermal imprinting-assisted ion exchange passivation (TIAIEP), which delivers a different approach to conventional solution-based methods. TIAIEP focuses on addressing surface imperfections in solid-state films by using a passivator that promotes ion exchange specifically at the defect sites within the perovskite layer. By adjusting the time and temperature of the TIAIEP process, we achieve substantial enhancement in the creation of a compositional gradient within the films. This optimization slows the cooling rate of hot carriers, leading to minimizing charge recombination and improving the device performance. Remarkably, devices treated with TIAIEP achieve a 22.29% power conversion efficiency and show outstanding stability, with unencapsulated PSCs maintaining 91% of their original efficiency after over 2000 h of storage and 90% efficiency after 1200 h of constant illumination. These results highlight TIAIEP's effectiveness in mitigating surface defects, improving both the photoelectric and stability performance of PSCs, and indicating significant potential for large-scale application in perovskite film passivation, promoting the widespread adoption of this technology.

    BACKGROUND: Malnutrition is a common complication in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). However, there are few studies on risk factors for malnutrition in NPC patients. Our aims were to identify the risk factors for malnutrition in NPC patients.

    METHODS: NPC patients were recruited in this cross-sectional study, and they were divided into well-nourished and malnourished groups according to the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM). Potential risk factors were initially screened using univariate analysis (p p p p p = 0.011), and low PA (OR = 0.993, 95% CI 0.988-0.998, p = 0.008) were risk factors for malnutrition in NPC patients.

    CONCLUSIONS: The low BMI, the high total radiation dose received, appetite loss, and low prealbumin were risk factors for malnutrition in NPC patients.

    AIM: Explore the existing literature on the experience and needs of palliative nurses facing job burnout.

    BACKGROUND: On a global scale, with the increase of aging, the number of people in need of palliative care has increased significantly, which has a huge impact on the professional pressure of palliative nurses. Existing literature focuses on examining palliative care from the perspective of patients, but palliative nurses also face the threats to physical and mental health caused by job burnout.

    EVALUATION: A systematic literature search has been carried out in the following databases as of October 2021:PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, Web of Science, and Scopus. The Cochrane Library and Joanna Briggs Institute Library were also searched to confirm if there are any available systematic reviews on the subject. Manually searched the reference list of included papers.

    KEY ISSUES: Seventeen studies were included in this review. Five key issues in the palliative care nurse's experience: (1) psychological harm, (2) physical symptoms, (3) negative emotions, (4) Burnout caused by communication barriers, and (5) Lack of experience. Two key issues in the needs of palliative care nurses: (1) social support, and (2) training and education.

    CONCLUSION: The pressure of facing death for a long time and controlling the symptoms of patients has a very important impact on the mental and physical health of palliative nurses. Nursing staff have needed to be satisfied, and it is essential to provide support and help relieve the pressure on palliative nurses.

    China is the largest strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa) producer worldwide. In 2022 the area devoted to strawberry planting in China was 147.45 thousand hectares. Hebei province is the fourth-largest strawberry planting province in China, where strawberries play a crucial role in the agricultural economy. In November 2023, root rot was observed on strawberry plants (cultivar Benihoppe) in Xushui County (115°35'59″ E, 38°58'39″ N), Hebei province, affecting overall growth and reproduction. Disease incidence in two greenhouses (0.15 ha in size) was up to ~70%, with severe symptoms causing almost complete plant mortality. The initial symptoms included abnormally small new leaves, followed by wilting and collapse of the plants. As the disease progressed, the leaves curled and withered, ultimately leading to plant death. Under humid conditions, a sticky bacterial ooze was observed exuding from the stem base. Dissection of the stem base of diseased plants revealed reddish-brown discolored roots while the roots of healthy plants were white. To isolate the causal agent, 10 root samples from symptomatic plants were randomly selected from two greenhouses and surface sterilized sequentially in absolute ethanol (1 min), 3.125% NaOCl (6 min), and absolute ethanol (30 s), followed by rinsing in sterile water three times (Sahu et al. 2022). Root pieces were then placed on Luria-Bertani (LB) agar and incubated at 25℃ in darkness for 3 days. After isolation of bacteria from the symptomatic tissues, subculturing onto new media was performed to obtain pure cultures. The 10 bacterial isolates selected for further analysis exhibited a similar morphology of circular and smooth colonies that were initially milky white and later were yellow-pigmented. Three representative isolates (CM2402, CM2403, and CM2405) were selected for 16S rDNA sequencing using primers 27F/1492R (27F: 5'-AGAGTTTGATCMTGGCTCAG-3'; 1492R: 5'-GGTTACCTTGTTACGACTT-3') (Lane 1991). BLASTn analysis revealed that the three sequences were identical, with 99.86% (1,420/1,422 bp) identity to Pantoea sp. strain nts-7 (OR392975.1). Biochemical analysis confirmed that the isolates belong to the genus Pantoea, testing positive with the Voges-Proskauer test for production of acetylmethyl carbinol from glucose fermentation, utilization of citrate, D-mannose, inositol, and malonate, positive for β-galactosidase while negative for indole production, phenylalanine deaminase, lysine decarboxylase, urease, H2S production, and acid production from raffinose, adonitol, and D-sorbitol (Gavini et al. 1989). Five housekeeping genes (gyrB, fusA, leuS, pyrG, rplB) were amplified and sequenced for further molecular identification (Delétoile et al. 2009). A phylogenetic tree based on the combined sequences of these genes was constructed using the neighbor-joining method, with the isolates clustering with P. dispersa. No sequence variation was detected among the isolates CM2402, CM2403, and CM2405 in the five genes. The sequences of the five housekeeping genes and the 16S rDNA from one representative isolate (CM2405) were deposited in GenBank under accession numbers: PQ100709 (gyrB), PQ100708 (fusA), PQ059271 (leuS), PQ100710 (pyrG), PQ100711 (rplB), and PQ095944 (16S rDNA). To fulfill Koch's postulates, pathogenicity tests were performed on 10 1-month-old strawberry plants (cultivar Benihoppe) with three independent replicates per treatment. The soil was shaken off of roots which were then soaked in bacterial suspensions of isolates CM2402, CM2403, and CM2405 (107 cfu/mL) for 10 minutes. Strawberry plants were planted into sterilized soil and cultured at 25℃ under a 16 h light and 8 h dark photoperiod. Strawberry plants with roots soaked in sterilized water were used as the control. Four weeks after transplanting, the strawberry plants soaked with bacterial suspensions exhibited poor vigor and root necrosis, while the control plants remained symptomless. The pathogen reisolated from necrotic tissue was morphologically and molecularly identical to the original strain. These results confirmed P. dispersa as the causal agent of strawberry root rot in China. P. dispersa has been reported as a pathogen of rice in India and Malaysia (Jena et al. 2023; Toh et al. 2019), causing bulb decay in onion in Taiwan (Chang et al. 2018), and brown blotch disease in Flammulina filiformis in China (Hu et al. 2022). To our knowledge, this is the first report of P. dispersa causing strawberry root rot. This research is critical for effective management, facilitating early detection, informing targeted control measures, and preventing further disease spread, ultimately reducing crop losses and improving sustainability.

    It has been previously observed that rainwater input into paddy rice soils reduced the level of grain-borne arsenic, and it is hypothesized that a Fenton-like reaction triggered by interaction between rainwater-borne hydrogen peroxide and ferrous iron in paddy soils is responsible for microbially mediated impediment of As uptake by rice plants. However, this hypothesis remains untested. This study tested the hypothesis through mesocosm experiments, confirming that rainwater-borne hydrogen peroxide triggered hydroxyl radical (•OH) generation, elevating soil redox potential, and oxidizing arsenite to less phytoavailable arsenate in soil porewater, thereby reducing As uptake by rice and As accumulation in rice grain. Comparison between two crops of rice cultivation with different fluxes of rainwater-borne hydrogen peroxide confirms that seasonal rainfall variation has an impact on accumulation of rice grain-borne arsenic, with paddy soil receiving more rainfall having a lower arsenic concentration in the rice grain compared to that receiving less rainfall. Using China's major rice-producing region as an example, it is demonstrated that spatial variation in rainfall regime could impact the geographical distribution of rice grain-borne As at a national scale. The findings have implications for the assessment and management of the environmental risk from arsenic-contaminated rice grains.
