    Kajian ini menyelidik kekekalan maklumat auditori dan visual dalam keadaan gangguan terhadap ingatan. Sebanyak 76 peserta mengambil bahagian dalam dua eksperimen berasingan (ujian ingatan auditori dan visual) di mana peserta perlu menyelesaikan sesuatu tugas berkaitan dengan ingatan dalam keadaan gangguan auditori atau visual. Perbandingan prestasi dilakukan dengan kumpulan kawalan tanpa gangguan. Didapati bahawa ingatan auditori mudah dipengaruhi oleh gangguan auditori tetapi tidak terpengaruh oleh gangguan visual. lngatan visual mudah dipengaruhi oleh gangguan tanpa menghiraukan apapun modalitas. Kesan dari kombinasi unik gangguan terhadap ingatan menyokongkan pendekatan pelbagai komponen yang dikemukakan oleh Baddeley (2002) terhadap ingatan.

    Published scientific evidence demonstrate the current spread of healthcare misinformation in the most popular social networks and unofficial communication channels. Up to 40% of the medical websites were identified reporting inappropriate information, moreover being shared more than 450,000 times in a 5-year-time frame. The phenomenon is particularly spread in infective diseases medicine, oncology and cardiovascular medicine. The present document is the result of a scientific and educational endeavor by a worldwide group of top experts who selected and analyzed the major issues and related evidence-based facts on vein and lymphatic management. A section of this work is entirely dedicated to the patients and therefore written in layman terms, with the aim of improving public vein-lymphatic awareness. The part dedicated to the medical professionals includes a revision of the current literature, summing up the statements that are fully evidence-based in venous and lymphatic disease management, and suggesting future lines of research to fulfill the still unmet needs. The document has been written following an intense digital interaction among dedicated working groups, leading to an institutional project presentation during the Universal Expo in Dubai, in the occasion of the v-WINter 2022 meeting.

    A key principle of clinical studies and case reports is that they should reflect the demographics and epidemiology of the patient population concerned. Here, we have compiled a diverse group of clinical cases of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) to showcase the differences in GPP presentation in patients worldwide. We attempt to capture the broad spectrum of clinical presentations of GPP and showcase the diversity of the patient population. The patients included in this series are diverse in age, genetic background, skin phototype and medical history. Moreover, they present with a variety of clinical courses of GPP and different degrees of systemic involvement, and experience flares triggered by different inciting factors. The key learnings from this case series may support physicians in identifying and managing patients with this rare and multifaceted disease that can affect patients both physically and psychologically.

    Streptococcus parasanguinis causes invasive diseases. However, the mechanism by which it causes disease remains unclear. Here, we describe the complete genome sequence of S. parasanguinis C1A, isolated from a patient diagnosed with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Several genes that might be associated with pathogenesis are also described.

    New knowledge on the pathogenesis of the acute coronary syndromes provides the clinician with a better understanding of these important, often life-threatening, events and opens up new ways of managing them. The identification of the vulnerable plaque whilst important and possible pathologically still requires elaborate and often invasive methods. The central role of inflammation and the platelets in these syndromes has already been translated into practical therapeutics. Identifying and predicting which plaque would rupture and thereby facilitating the formation of an acute obstructive thrombus continue as major challenges to the clinician, but, in the meantime, regressing and stabilising these plaques are achievable goals.

    Angiokeratoma is a dark violaceous keratotic papule which can be solitary or multiple. Generalised systemic angiokeratoma constitute angiokeratoma corporis diffusum, a rare X-linked recessive inborn error of glycosphingolipid metabolism due to deficiency of alpha galactosidase A. Patients with this disease have premature death due to the vascular complications. A case of possible Fabry's disease is presented.

    Gestational trophoblastic disease is a spectrum of pregnancy disorder arising from the placental trophoblastic tissues. It characterised by the secretion of a distinct tumour marker, the beta-HCG. This condition is highly curable even in the presence of metastasis. The incidence of this disease is higher in the Asian population. The major well-established risk factors for gestational trophoblastic disease are advanced maternal age and a past history of gestational trophoblastic disease. Common clinical presentations include vaginal bleeding in early trimester, uterus larger than gestational age, absence of fetal parts after 20 weeks of gestation. Ultrasonography is a reliable non-invasive tool for diagnosis of gestational trophoblastic disease in the clinical setting. All placental tissue following miscarriage or curettage should have histopathological evaluation to exclude gestational trophoblastic disease. Since this group of disorders is one of the highly curable neoplasms, early diagnosis and prompt treatment is necessary.

    Hormone therapy continues to be a favourable option in the management of menopausal symptomatology, but the associated risk-benefit ratios with respect to neurodegenerative diseases remain controversial. The study aim was to determine the relation between menopausal hormone therapy and Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and Parkinson's disease in human subjects. A literature search was performed in PubMed/Medline, Cochrane collaboration, and Scopus databases from onset of the database to September 2019. Random-effects model was used to estimate pooled odd ratio (OR) and 95 % confidence intervals (CI). Subgroup analysis was performed based on the type and formulation of hormone. In addition, the time-response effect of this relationship was also assessed based on duration of hormone therapy. Associations between hormone therapy and Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and Parkinson's disease in menopausal women were reported in 28 studies. Pooled results with random effect model showed a significant association between hormone therapy and Alzheimer's disease (OR 1.08, 95 % CI 1.03-1.14, I2: 69 %). This relationship was more pronounced in patients receiving the combined estrogen-progestogen formulation. Moreover, a significant non-linear time-response association between hormone therapy and Alzheimer's disease was also identified (Coef1 = 0.0477, p1<0.001; Coef2 = -0.0932, p2<0.001). Similarly, pooled analysis revealed a significant association between hormone therapy and all-cause dementia (OR 1.16, 95 % CI 1.02-1.31, I2: 19 %). Interestingly, no comparable relationship was uncovered between hormone therapy as a whole and Parkinson's disease (OR 1.14, 95 % CI 0.95-1.38, I2: 65 %); however, sub-group analysis revealed a significant relationship between the disease and progestogen (OR 3.41, 95 % CI 1.23-9.46) or combined estrogen-progestogen formulation use (OR 1.49, 95 % CI 1.34-1.65). Indeed, this association was also found to be driven by duration of exposure (Coef1 = 0.0626, p1 = 0.04). This study reveals a significant direct relationship between the use of certain hormonal therapies and Alzheimer's disease, all-cause dementia, and Parkinson's disease in menopausal women. However, the association appears to shift in direct after five years in the context of Alzheimer's disease, adding further weight to the critical window or timing hypothesis of neurodegeneration and neuroprotection.

    This paper investigates and determines the solutions for the Diophantine equation x2 + 4.7b = y2r, where
    x, y, b are all positive intergers and r > 1. By substituting the values of r and b respectively, generators of
    x and yr can be determined and classified into different categories. Then, by using geometric progression
    method, a general formula for each category can be obtained. The necessary conditions to obtain the
    integral solutions of x and y are also investigated.
