DESIGN: A cross sectional study.
METHOD: A self-administered online survey was used from August to October 2022, with a sample size of 417 nursing students selected through convenience sampling. Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and PROCESS macro v4.1 (Model 4) were used for data analysis.
RESULTS: The results revealed that virtual learning infrastructure, access to electronic facilities, and student collaboration, significantly predict student computer competency and e-learning outcomes. Virtual learning infrastructure and access to electronic facilities were found to be the strongest predictors of student computer competency, while student collaboration had a smaller but still significant effect. Student computer competency was found to mediate the relationship between virtual learning infrastructure, access to electronic facilities, student collaboration, and e-learning outcomes.
OBJECTIVE: To identify and evaluate the pattern and associated factors to COVID-19 knowledge, attitude, and practice among individuals with comorbidities.
METHODOLOGY: The systematic review followed the PRISMA guidelines. Relevant studies assessing the KAP of comorbid patients were retrieved by carefully searching the PubMed and Google Scholar databases. The appraisal tool for cross-sectional studies was used to determine the quality of the included studies and the risk of biases.
RESULTS: Eighteen studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. The pooled sample size of the included studies was 9,104. Different comorbidities reported in the studies include hypertension, diabetes, psychological disorders, and cancer. Pooled analysis showed that 65% of patients showed good knowledge, 57% of patients showed a positive attitude and 51% of patients followed good practices to manage the COVID-19 in presence of their comorbid condition. Significant factors impacting knowledge, attitude and practice in COVID-19 comorbid patients were ethnicity OR 1.78 [95% CI 1.35-2.32]; educational status 3.2 [2.79-3.58]; urban residence 2.43 [1.65-3.02]; employment Status 1.67[1.34-2.12]; financial Status 4.02[3.66-4.38]; occupation 3.65[3.31-4.25]; information Source 2.64[2.19-3.26]; comorbidity 3.28[2.78-3.61]; and duration of chronic illness 1.59[1.31-2.04].
CONCLUSION: Comorbid COVID-19 patients showed good knowledge, positive attitude and good practice towards the management of the disease.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A 21-point electronic survey (Federation of Asian Radiation Oncology Research Network [FERN]-S-005) was designed by the FERN and was circulated through the FARO research secretariat to the FARO council member countries and the responses were collected between August and November 2023.
RESULTS: Twelve of 14 member countries (85.7%) responded to the survey. Twenty-seven responses were received and 78% of the respondents belonged to government/teaching academic institute. 4/27 (14.8%) reported never using HYPO-RT for any of the clinical subsite of HNCs, while the majority (85.2%) used it for glottic cancers and 22% also used it for postoperative setting. Majority (77.7%) used a fractionation schedule with dose per fraction ranging between 2.2 and 2.5 Gy. 6/27 (22.2%) used AFRT for definitive setting and five of these also used concurrent chemoradiotherapy. 4/27 (14.8%) centers reported using HFRT. The most common reason (62.9%) for the limited usage of AFRT/HFRT was reported to be logistical, such as unavailability of machine slots, patient load, and so on.
CONCLUSION: The result of the survey suggests that among the ALFT strategies for HNCs, HYPO-RT schedules have common interest and feasibility among the FARO member countries and also highlights the challenges in the delivery of AFRT/HFRT in the Asian region.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 38 anaesthesiology trainees, following 24-hour ICU on-call shifts, were recruited for this single-centre cross-sectional clinical trial. The participants were required to complete two 24-hour on-call duties. Demographic data and baseline sleep quality assessments were collected following the first on-call duty. Upon completion of the second on-call shift, participants underwent 20 minutes of TEAS at bilateral PC6 (Neiguan), LI4 (Hegu), LR3 (Taichong), and ST41 (Jiexi) points. Heart rate variability (HRV) parameters, blood pressure, and heart rate were recorded before and after TEAS. Post-TEAS sleep quality was assessed following an overnight rest.
RESULTS: The results demonstrated a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure compared to baseline (109.5±8.9 vs 111.9±10.1 mmHg, p = 0.006), as well as a significant decrease in diastolic blood pressure (69.3±8.0 vs 70.9±9.0 mmHg, p = 0.037) and heart rate (65.8±9.2 vs 67.4±9.8 bpm, p = 0.034). There was significant improvement in all aspects of sleep quality (p < 0.001). However, no statistically significant changes were observed in heart rate variability (HRV) parameters, including high-frequency (HF) power, lowfrequency (LF) power, and the LF/HF ratio.
CONCLUSION: TEAS may offer potential benefits in managing cardiovascular stress and improving sleep quality in highstress environments, such as post-call recovery. Nevertheless, its impact on autonomic nervous system regulation, as reflected by HRV, appears limited.
METHOD: A cross-sectional design was employed with 350 participants (144 men, 206 women) aged 18 to 35.
RESULTS: Regression analyses showed that sadness regulation strategies significantly predict both depression and anxiety. For depression, the model explained 18.6% of the variance (F (7,342) = 11.140, p
METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 500 PUBG players, categorized into Lower, Medium, and High PUBG Users. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire, including the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), and a gaming disorder screening tool. The Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) methodology was applied to analyze the factors influencing migraine symptoms, sleep quality, and quality of life.
RESULTS: Participants of the study were categorized into lower PUBG users (LPU), medium PUBG users (MPU), and high PUBG users (HPU). Among study participants reporting migraine pain, 259 (51.8%) reported that they were HPU. By examining daytime sleepiness using the ESS, Higher normal Day sleep (DS) was observed in 78 (15.9%) HPU. The cultivation level of PUBG showed a very weak positive correlation with experiencing migraine pain or associated headache symptoms (r = 0.034, p = 0.454). In contrast, the gaming disorder of PUBG showed a weak negative correlation with PSQI (r = -0.092, p = 0.041). The higher levels of gaming disorder are slightly associated with poorer sleep quality. The results of the MLP model suggested that daily PUBG use was the most contributing factor to migraine and related symptoms followed by gaming disorder, gaming addiction, PSQI, and ESS.
CONCLUSION: The study concluded that PUBG playing contributes to migraine and its associated symptoms although is not significant it contributes to less sleep quality and lower quality of life.
METHODS: This cross-sectional study involved 140 invasive breast cancer cases at Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia. The study consisted of two phases: Phase 1, which developed nuclear scoring criteria using histopathological images from 2013-2017, and Phase 2, which validated these criteria on cases from 2018-2019. Two sets of samples were included for the study, with 120 cases analyzed in Phase 1 and 53 cases in Phase 2. Descriptive statistics and normality tests assessed differences in LNS and NSD across original nuclear grades.
RESULTS: Significant differences were found in LNS and NSD across original nuclear grades (p
METHOD: This prospective cross-sectional study included forty-four adults with OSA. We compared three measurements between LCR and HBL-3DS images: modified facial profile angle (MFPA), nasolabial angle (NLA), and mandibular length (ML). Additionally, the 3D images of thirty-four participants with OSA indices were analysed for seventeen parameters, such as angles, ratios, and linear distances.
RESULTS: This study revealed significant strong correlations (p
METHOD: An online cross-sectional survey was conducted among 433 Chinese adult female Otome gamers recruited through snowball sampling on Xiaohongshu and Weibo.
RESULTS: Relative deprivation was positively associated with problematic Otome game behavior, and both player-character attachment and maladaptive cognition showed significant indirect associations. Trait mindfulness was positively correlated with maladaptive cognition (r = 0.417) and problematic Otome game behavior (r = 0.510), whereas negative RD × TM interactions indicated that the positive RD-related associations with player-character attachment, maladaptive cognition, and problematic Otome game behavior became weaker as trait mindfulness increased.
CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that problematic Otome game behavior may be associated with both player-character involvement and maladaptive gaming cognition. The mindfulness interactions indicate attenuation of RD-related slopes rather than a generally protective association of higher mindfulness. Given the cross-sectional and non-probability sampling design, causal interpretations should be avoided.
